He had insurance, but only a learner's permit. I talked to his uncle (trucks owner) & he said he'd take care of it Monday.

You're lucky.........

A couple years back my Trans Am was parked in front of my store late one
evening while we took inventory. A 12 year old black kid (drunk) crashed his
bike in front of my store and the bike ended up on top of my hood leaving
several deep scratches. The kid did give me his phone number so the next
day I called his father only to hear "F*** Off!" Being only 12 the child isn't
liable until he's 18 years old. See, so you are lucky the 15 olds uncle was
a stand up kinda guy unlike my situation!

Atleast they are willing to pay the damages, could have been much worse.

It depends on your state law, as some states hold parents and legal guardians liable for the acts of their minor kids (although you'd likely have to sue them). With some exceptions, though, a vehicle's owner is generally liable for what happens with his vehicle.

hah! Good luck with that one; watch Monday come and him disappear/deny any liability.

Report it to your insurance & file a police report ASAP
