Back from the dealer...urgh...help

I joined the CD error club like a week ago. Friday I went in for a replacement of the cd unit. They offer to wash the car and I declined b/c I did not want to wait extra. Picked up the car around noon went to work. Got off work and notice that the bottom left of my bumper got scratched. Went back to the dealer and they stated that the repair work be looked at in a week.

Now my question is do you guys think I should have them repaint the bumper? Will the paint blend be good? Or ask for a discounted stock lip? What should I do? Here's 2 pix.

i have to say i will not offer anything insightful to your question, but WTF is going on w/these dealerships. i'm pretty much terrified of taking it in for anything. i'm sorry to see this happen to you.

how deep is it? looks pretty deep from the pics.

Re: Back from the dealer...urgh...help

If that happened to me I would go nuts. That does not just seem like a regular old scratch to me. Before I take my car in for service I usually use my digital camera and take pictures. My family has an extra car(2001 Sequoia) and I took that in one day. They ended up totally destroying the rear bumper and claiming it wasn't them. I simply took out the pictures of the car and then took it to another collision place and had it replaced instead of trust it to them. So now to my advice I say you show it to them, and make them either give u a lotta goodies and repaint that bumper or just give u a new bumper.

It looks to me like if you got a lip it would cover the deep scratches. The lighter scratches that are higher look like they can be buffed out. I would ask for a deeply discounted front lip, buff the lighter scratches, then have the lip painted and installed.

Get it painted, it will look fine and they will likely take out a bunch of other bug/rock/etc. defects on the front bumper at the same time. Black is one of the easier colors to match.

last time i took my car to the dealer's service dept. i took pictures of the car in the presence of the service manager. i told him i've seen way too many horror stories about other's getting their cars scratched and the service dept not owning up to it. make sure they fix it on their own dime and yeah, try to get the front lip on a really deep discounted price (for damaging your car and wasting your time)

I just got off the phone with Infiniti of Gwinnett service dept. Man a bunch of rude ***** up in there. ----> Service Dept.
He said I could of did it. And was he his fault for not looking when it came in. But anyhow they are gonna cover it this time. What a waste of my time.
Thank God it wasn't my rims that got scrape. I just want my bumper fixed and never go back to this dealer.
