Clear Corner install advice

I'm thinking of ordering a set of clear corners for my ivory coupe...I read in the factory owners manual regarding bulb replacement that you simply remove the markers with a screw driver.....my question is this....is that all it takes to remove/replace these lights???? I was under the impression that the inner wells had to be removed/loosened to access that area including all other lights...Also I think i remember a post by ducatiguy on a how to prevent the corner lights from possible theft....I just can't remember where i saw the post...I apologize in advance if this has been covered a million times...but we all must start somewhere....thanks for any help..20ld4this

Re: Clear Corner install advice

Screwdriver ?!?! - not even. You just put your fingers on the back part of each corner and pull outwards - a slight pull and it's out. You don't need to get inside the wheel well to swap the corners. However, you WILL need to go inside the wheel well, if you decide to secure them - this is being done from the inside part of the wheel well. I didn't secure mine, simply because of the reason that I'm afraid someone will damage my bumper while fighting with the corners, or maybe get frustrated, pissed, and so before leaving, scratch my car just to be an a$$, which a repair for such damage, would cost me much more than a set of new corners.
But in case you do want to secure yours, here is the thread you are looking for: https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...age=&view=&sb=

I've been thinking of doing this too, but can't seem to justify the $70. Anyone find them cheaper?

How about under $50?

ahhh, please don't NOT use a screwdriver! The screwdriver is used to release a metal tab on the backside of the lens, inside the wheel well. Just take a good look at it and you will figure it out. Just pulling it may risk breaking the clip. It really is easy, just release the tab and pull out and then back.

Re: Clear Corner install advice

thanks for the visuals and advice....I know i will purchase the clear corners but what bulbs to use? I live in N.J. so I'm not to sure if the cops will hassle me with white bulbs as well...I am not using my front plate...so I really don't want to draw too much attraction to the front of my car at this point....does or has anybody left the stock amber bulbs in there? if you did would you post pics.. I really want to go with PIAA extreme white in both corners and clearance strip ( I know this is another long and very opinionated thread) but all this info really helps out the beginner...thanks again everyone..20ld4this

Re: Clear Corner install advice

I used a screwdriver...but I padded it. And I left the bulbs in that came with the corner lights--no need to run afoul of Louisiana's finest, in my opinion. But, during the day, the clear markers really clean up my OB coupe!!

Re: Clear Corner install advice

I ordered the corners from courtesyinfiniti/nissan for 49.90 w/shipping around $58.00...not too bad a price..I also ordered from Import warehouse two sets of Piaa extreme white bulbs for the corners and clearance strips...but I will wait until I see some pics of corners with amber bulbs before I make my decision...I see a few people posted are from N.J. any feedback about the law side of this topic...at 52 I don't need police hasseling me because I choose not to keep my car stock!!!!!2old4this???I don't thinks so...never too old for nice cars IMO

04 ivory pearl/willow/5at/prem/sport wheel pkg/clear corners/Piaa's comming soon!!!
