Hmm so many things wrong.. dont know if to go to dealership...

Hey guys, I have an 04 G35 COUPE fully loaded, 60,000 miles..

its due for service, however im not sure if i wanna go to dealership for the service.. First of all i heard they dont use synthetic oil?? plus its more expensive..

Im thinking of going to some shop to service my car..

also i think i need new brake pads,, grrr...

My gas mileage really sucks and its still pissing me off.. i get like 15MPG(navigation)

What do you guys think?

Valvoline for the record...

I got my oil and rear diffrential fluid changed and it cost me 90.00

My most recent service through Valvoline was and oil change and trnasmission fluid change and that cost me 80.00 compared to to the dealership raping me at 200.00 for rear diff fluid change and transmission fluid change.

you can get your own oil and bring it if you want. A 5qt. jug of Mobil1 is $19.95 at wal-mart.
you also have the 60k scheduled maintenance. i dunno what that includes but you should look into it.
and what are all the things wrong with your car?

As for pads Jason@Riverside Infiniti gives awesome prices on OEM and aftermarket pads. Get them from him and if your rotors don't need cutting then DIY.

THank you!

I was going to post... buy all the parts from me, do it your self!

I can send instructions etc from the service manual if you need...

you can give me a call and we can figure out exactly what you will need...

Hey Jason, if we do our own services but are still under warranty do infiniti dealerships care if the customer is doing their own services when it comes to other issues? I work for 3 dealerships and they aren't huge fans of customers doing their own services or places like jiffy lube.

Also someone mentioned you can get aftermarket parts as well, could you send over a break pad set all the way around for hawk performance ceramic pads? Thanks

Its good to keep all records from maintenance services. If you do them your self, keep the oil purchase receipts etc... If you get maintenance at "EZ Auto Lube" hold on to those receipts...

IF there is a MAJOR warranty repair like a new engine, they will ask for records... but thats about it... as long as the minimum services are performed, everything is all good.

So Jason, if I have a tech at one of the dealerships I work at do all of my services I should be ok warranty wise as long as I keep my oil receipts?

Also is there a pdf of the service manual for '04 coupes? I have to schedule a 30k service and was wondering what it consisted of

Thanks in advance.

yes, or any record you have...

i do not know what it is like at the dealerships you work at, but any one I have worked at, if a car went into the shop, even an employee car it had to have an open repair order on it...

Hey Jason, yea I would end up having my receipt as well as my RO for the car because I will actually run it through our shop. I was just worried they would give me warranty issues even though my paper work will be all legit.

I don't mind paying the extra $$ going through infiniti but its just much more convenient because I could have it done while I am at work without going anywhere and plus I know my technicians who are friends of mine won't mess with my car. I just dumped 13k into my coupe and I was worried about leaving my car there through the day now.

Is there anywhere that the service manuals are posted? What is included in our 30k service?
