Join the SCCA. They probably have a local chapter hosting events in your area.

"so I have been making it a point to drive with more speed and recklessness "

Gee...that's just great! Please let me know which roads you travel so I never drive on them. Not to be a ***** but street racing is dangerous enough, much less with a complete novice under the worst conditions (it just started sprinking). Take it to the racetrack.

Re: Racing Experience

haahaa....take it easy guys, I really think she just means more aggresively not recklessly. I know a lot of girls who could drive more aggresively but learn how to first please. Do not go out and start racing when you don't have the basic skills to do so and are just starting out. Especially when you said this is the first manual you've owned.

New racer + New manual owner + New car = ????

In Florida now, if you are caught street racing your car is taken away and sold!

Re: Racing Experience

dang that's a harsh one.

Because of the side shows and Grey Davis's cool laws we get arrested, fined and car impounded for a minimum of 2 months at your own cost. I know you get arrested and fined but I forgot how many impound days, but I'll find out next time I get pulled over. KNOCK ON WOOD.

I've had this law repeated to me over and over cause the same law applies to bikes.

Re: Racing Experience

OvaYahead: you left out the part about the 6-month license suspension.

Plus, if you're under 21 and you have even a trace amount of alcohol or drugs in your system, the "zero tolerance" laws kick in.. not sure what that adds to the charges.

Pretty dumb thing to get caught doing, especially since they have legal sanctioned drag races and autocross events around here all the time.

Re: Racing Experience

putting on their 4way flashers is the ricer way of saiyng 'look at me, i won the race'.

it doesn't matter if they race you and have a 10car headstart, they'll still do it......although it is kind of fun to do to them- flew right by a riced-out civic, cut infront of him, then threw on my 4-ways once, haha, look on his face with pricless.
