you know the only way the G35 coupes would really retain their value... is if the G37 wasn't really a 3.7... if it didn't offer the power it has. if the g35 was the las t of it's generation for a time, value will hold for example ie supra, but of course the g line will continue. the other only way is if it was so much horrible. a lot of people say that the styling is ugly, styling change and will eventually grow on consumers. like the eclipse gsx/gs-t generation pwned the eclipse gt v6 generation simply because they offered awd/turbo that the newer generation didn't.

g35 coupes... prices will drop.

I'm sorry to say that KBB is not primarily used for determining car values as much as Black Book. Black book is predominately used by the auto industry by determining car values through weekly dealer auctions. It is pretty much what used and new car dealers such as Car Max use to determine prices for different regions. Yes, cars are a depreciating asset, but that is understood. My 4 year old Coupe has had it's biggest hit already for depreciation compared to the later model Coupes. All our cars depreciate, but the model year change should not significantly alter previous G35 Coupe values.

From my own personal experience in my area, I am definitely gonna have to agree with AdamJ. When the 07 Sedans were released last fall, I saw a sharper than normal increase in depreciation on the 1st gen Sedans. My 03 G saw a significant decrease in value in the few months leading up to the release of the 2nd gen Sedan. With the completely redesigned G37 coming soon, I think the 1st gen Coupes will see slightly quicker depreciation rate than normal. IMO, completely redesigned models of a vehicle will definitely affect the pricing of the previous generation.

I think the 05-06 models are the ones most people seem to like. In the long run I believe these models will hold there value for a while. I have spoke with many car enthusiast and they are not crazy about the G37. I think 5-10 years from now people will be trying to find the 05-06 models in good/mint condition. Just my .02c.

Remember... Infiniti didn't create the G37 for car enthusiasts.
