No more than factoring in the car is a year older. Just the normal depreciation.

Yep, not anymore than a decrease for the 05 G35 when the 06 was released.

I think that the G35 will become inheriently valueless... they will be paying people to take them off the lots.

Prices won't drop at all. Our vehicles are highly sought after and will be for some time to come. If anything...there will be people more interested in the first generation coupes because of their reputation for low-dollar high-performance, reliability, and value-retention. It doesnt hurt that some favor the styling of the Gen1 coupe over the Gen2 G37. Good deals on Gen1 coupes will remain rare! Especially the six speed manuals which accounted for a little over 5% of overall production.

you will get normal depreciation after the 08 g37 comes into the market. Obviously you will be able to close a better deal, possibly a deal under invoice, but that can even be done now

just my 2 cents.

in my experience, with a good looking car like ours that is reliable and amazing...the prices won't necessarily even go down, because dealers will pull the: if you're 'lucky enough to find one on a lot, from a reputable dealer' BS, and charge top dollar. Even the first few months when the g37's are out, they will probably be short on those, so they'll be like, 'well, if you have the $$, we'll sell you one of our LAAAAST g35's, if you're lucky...and have enough cash...Cuz now they're out of production and in 'demand.'

(For example: Try getting a Lexus IS300 in good shape from a dealer now that the IS250/350 is out, for a good deal at all! They usually are charging more than they did 4 years ago when they were in production! )

BUT!!
If you try to buy one used off of craigslist or something, you now have the 'well, the g37's are out, so you'll be lucky to sell this car to ME...' card that average people will play int, cuz they're not dealers.

in vancouver, the g37 has arrived to infiniti dealerships recently. in some insane way, you can get the 08 g37s coupe CHEAPER than the 07 g35. makes NO sense to me. btw, all the g37's were sold out when i went to see them yesterday.

The G37 is an entirely new generation, we will see a larger drop in G35 prices once it's released.

yea i got an email offer from my local infiniti dealer, said the internet price was 30,437+tax+dealer fees, and the MSRP on that coupe was 38,9XX so with a little tough negotiating i might be able to get a new 07 coupe for $31K OTD

I don't agree. There will be just few enough 07 leftovers to keep their prices around cost or somewhat under for being the last of the 1st generation design, and the earlier Coupes will hold their value due to the difference in pricing of the G37. Don't fool yourself. Their are plenty of people out their that still like the 1st generation Coupes. However, there will always be a deal here or there with the right timing for a G35 Coupe just as there will be for the G37 once it cools next year.

You are incorrect. Go to KBB, or auto trader, and look up car values where they jump from one generation to another. The new generation has a substanial price increase because the previous generated dropped in value that much more. Don't fool myself? More like don't fool YOURSELF - I know you hope your '04 will still be worth MSRP but the fact is that everyone wants the latest and greatest. Cars are a depreciating asset, get used to it.
