New clock spring??

I have to get a new clock spring installed which is located behind the airbag. Infiniti wants to charge me ALOT of money to do it so im trying to go elsewhere to get it done. I have the part already but not sure where to go. Im located near Philadelphia and Bucks County. Please help guys!

the following link may be of use to U. Part should be available at dealer IF U want to attempt the repair URself. or even try a local Nissan dealer as the parts are most likely the same. It the part that maintains electrical contact between a moving part and stationary part using cables.

i wouldnt want to try it by myself. I hear that there's a chance i can set off the airbag. That would cost an arm and a leg to replace from what i understand. Thanks for the help though.

actually, a spark or static discharge could fire the squib...using a ground strap would be most beneficial.

here's how i snapped the clock spring...

i had to take my test pipes off and put my cats back on for emissions. The control arm of the steering wheel has to be removed for the left side of the cats to be put back on. someone turned the steering wheel while the control arm wasnt connected and snapped the clock spring. I didnt do this with infiniti so they considered it "damage" and cant be done with my warranty. So i bought the part through an online infiniti parts retailer for $115 shipped rather than $169 +tax at the dealership...and they want to charge me about $200 in labor. A good friend of mine worked at a nissan dealership...his friend, a tech there, said he would do it for $50 but he's been so busy lately. So i've been driving my car around for 4 weeks now with this problem and i want it done already. The things i get myself into

i just changed my clockspring myself b4

if u disconnect the battery terminals there is no chance of airbag going off

whole process takes about 20 min

FYI: I did a detailed DIY with pics for changing airbag & clockspring a long time ago

heres the link

Nice DIY btw.
Service manual states about disconnecting that green wire (ground) by the gray plug in the clockspring housing after battery disconnect
and before disconnecting the orange/yellow on bag.

That's what I did when I did my JDM air bag cover swap

Very nice! Thanks for that! Still a bit scared to do it. I'll see if a mechanic is up for helping me do it. Anyone in the Philly/Bucks/Jersey are that's interested in helping?

^^ Haha...yeah I was still hesitant in handling that airbag...aka...frikkin bomb...lol
I just made sure if it were to go off, I didn't have it pointing at me or was in front of it.
It was my first time doing anything with an airbag, so I was nervous.
But by following service manual precautions and procedures, I gained a lot more confidence and it was a piece of cake.

G/L with everything.

Ok...so i got the clock spring repaired. The airbag light went out...but the slip and VDC lights stayed on. Took it to Infiniti again...they said that i now need a "Steering Angle Sensor." OMG!! Part's going to cost me about $475 but Infiniti said that this problem did not show up until after i got the car fixed so the place that replaced the clock spring must have done something wrong. What do i do?!?!
