New to the G35 game - question
Hi all,
Just wanted to formally say hi. I bought a 2004 G35 coupe 6MT a couple of weeks ago. Everything but Navi is on it.
I'm familiar with automotive forums as I was part of SON(Southern Ontario Nissan) 240sx.org for over 4 years.
I've been on this site for a few months doing a lot of research and what not, but I didn't want to post anything until I actually had my car.
Anyway, I actually had a question that I couldn't find through searching. When I bought my car, the person I bought it from had lowered it with aftermarket springs on the stock struts. I'm not sure how long he's had it for, but apparently recently (before I bought it) there is a banging noise coming from the front end. It's only apparent when you are going slow speeds, but its very noticable to the driver and people outside.
It isnt just a loose rattling noise (which ive heard people complain about) it sounds as though something is disconnected or a shock is blown. Technically it is still under factory warranty, however with the aftermarket springs on I can't bring it in to the dealership because they'll make an excuse saying it's my fault. On top of that, the owner who claimed he had all the OEM stuff, is not giving it to me anymore for some reason.
Needless to say im a little stuck and getting increasingly worried it is a serious problem.
ANY advice would help. (i.e a place to buy OE parts from, if this has happened to anyone etc.)
Thanks a lot guys,

Thanks...
The noise can be descriped like a banging noise, something similar to hard knocking noise... its not like a faint noise, and it happens over very small bumps in the road, at low speeds... as if you're shock is blown and knocking around...
im sorry... it really hard to describe a noise... lol

That kinda noise.........?
I'd get the car on a hoist/lift and check everything out. That noise could be
a swaybar end link too. That's the noise my wife's Vet made when her end
links were broken......damn led foot! I check this kinda thing every time I
do an oil change, saves time scratching you head.

It had been loose for too long and was damaged so I had to replace it. They were able to do part under warranty for me and I had to pay ~$200. Not bad since my car has more than enough mods to fight their way out of it.
