According to BusinessWeek, 4 of the top 5 recalled cars were imports, the lone domestic being the Jeep Liberty. GM and Ford did well, both having a very low volume of vehicles recalled. Chrysler didn't perform as well as the other domestics, scoring 3 significant recalls. Full results to follow.

1. Volkswagen New Beetle: 1,002,000
2. Toyota Sequoia: 533,124
3. Jeep Liberty: 149,605
4. Nissan Altima: 140,582
5. Hyundai Tucson: 128,300
6. Dodge Nitro, Jeep Wrangler: 80,894
7. Suzuki Forenza, Reno: 75,697
8. Volkswagen Passat, Passat Wagon: 58,800
9. Chrysler Sebring, 300, Dodge Caliber, Magnum, Charger, Nitro, Jeep Compass, Liberty, Commander, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler: 50,665
10. Infiniti G35 Coupe: 23,934
11. Chevrolet Aveo: 17,676
12. Nissan Versa: 16,309
13. GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook: 13,032
14. Ford Expedition: 10,061
This is surprising ... for a car in its last year of production ... for it to make the Top 10 of 2007 for recalled cars ... says a lot. Is there an explanation to this? I didn't find anything on a search ...

But ... it also makes me a little concerned. What's going to happen with the 2008 model?! Maybe I should wait a year to iron out all the bugs ...

Wasn't this because of the '06 Factory headlight issue? It doesn't make mention of MY of car, just for 2007.

How long are you willing to wait?? Like you said, the 2007 is the last year or the G35 and it still had recalls.

Yeah, anyone know what the recalls were about? I'm thinking it's just for the headlights too.

That report is flawed, do you really think they sold 1 mil Bettles in 07? or how bout this?

6. Dodge Nitro, Jeep Wrangler: 80,894
9. Chrysler Sebring, 300, Dodge Caliber, Magnum, Charger, Nitro, Jeep Compass, Liberty, Commander, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler: 50,665

And accroding to Nissian sales report, they only sold 7666 Gcoups so far this year upto July.

Very, very stupid report when it lists number of cars effected by recalls instead of how many total recalls. It also does not designate between significant and insignificant recalls. I consider an optional recall like the headlight issue on the G coupes and FX to be rather minor compared to camshafts causing engine failure like in the new Toyota Tundra.

you got to be looking at it the right way.

How many out of domestic manufacturers have brake through technology in their vehicles.
Most of the **** that is recalled is just that.

Then. Infinitis major recall was the headlights. And the reason for that was that DOT thoughts that they were too bright. So in order to eliminate all potential law suits against this Infiniti replaced the headlights.

Never look at this statistics without any research.

It's similar to those statistics about Nissan 350Z being the deadliest car. When there is no data at which speed the accidents took place.

So it's all BS.

As others have stated, it's 1 recall, with the max # of affected vehicles listed. That recall (headlights) was for certain 2006 and 2007 G coupes. Mine isn't affected according to the recall (it listed the VINs).
