anyone else terrified of bringing theirG to dealer

I have been reading many posts (TOO many posts) of dealerships scratching rims or bumpers or side panels and honestly, im really scared to bring my car in for servicing. I have 7700 miles on the car (200 over when u are supposed to get it serviced) and i just cant bring myself to make an appointment. Its really stressing me out. With the amount of money i have paid infiniti for my G, it is UNHEARD OF to think that they are scratching cars or rims or whatever. For 38 grand i want a damn foot massage and glass of wine while i wait for my car to be serviced, OR at the very least...not have to be a nervous wreck about some guy at the dealership messing up my car.....does anyone else feel same way or am i just going to far? I was jokin about the foot massage thing...but a glass of wine would be nice : o )

Re: anyone else terrified of bringing theirG to dealer

I just got mine back from a rear deck rattle fix. I spent 2 hours getting off the scuffs on my doors, seats, kick panels and other plastic parts. I should have done it myself but I didnt have felt tape. I would have saved time (cleaning up after them vs. doing it myself and being careful).

oh, and the rattle is still there. 2nd try, still there. so.... I was without my car for 2 days for nothing. Why two days? they broke a side panel. But, they insisted on replacing the panel. So, I cannot complain there.

To their credit, I have no scratches on the outside of the car, they treated me very well, even tho I'm a bit obsessive compulsive about my car, they still didnt mind. They just dont have the time to take the care that I would with my own car.

There isnt really anything to do on the 7500. My dealer told me that since they didnt recommend a rotate (or breakdown side to side swap), I didnt need to come in at 7500. I do my own oil changes. Thats all they would really do.

The dealer treats *me* better than any other place I've been. I guess they treat my car a bit better as well.. I suspect no place can live up to my standards. Well, I hear there a few places (like Grubbs) that goes the extra mile, I should drive 5 hours to them

I haven't had any problems with them messing up the interior or the exterior of the car yet...

but what I don't like is how they put on 12 miles for nothing. I went to have the window regulator installed, but they said they couldn't do it because the original one is still working properly. Anyway, nothing was done, yet when I got the car back it had an extra 12 miles(had a loaner for the day, wasn't waiting at the dealership). I just thought about "Ferris Buler's Day Off" with those guys joy riding in the Ferrari California.

Haha...great movie reference. I'm almost about to have 3000 miles right now. But wouldn't it help if you told the dealer to be careful with the car prior to the maintenence? Like say "Please be extra careful with my car?" I'm sure they won't say anything like "at your own risk buddy"

Why should you even have to ask... shouldn't they be very careful anyways. If i have to resort to going to dealer i would of course say those exact words, but i would examine every single inch of the car to make sure nothing happened.

do what someone else on this board did, bring a camera and take pics of the whole car. if you want, do it in front of svc mgr
