Trade G for Z ?
Re: Trade G for Z ?
I personally feel the G looks alot better than the Z. The Z doesn't do much for me... Most of of the people I know feel the same way. The only thing the G lacks is the reputation as a fast car - many don't know its on the same level with the Z. The Z look is more in the class of the STI and Evo racers appearance - edgy racer, whereas the G is a subdued, sleek, and classy look.

Re: Trade G for Z ?
I personally think the G35 is the way to go. We can say we have a Nissan Skyline. Supposedly in Japan, the G is a lot more popular than the Z. I bet there will be a lot more aftermaket parts for the G35 also. Plus, we have the extra 2 seats. I think of it this way, the Z is more like the S2000 and the G35 is bigger like the Supra. Oh, regarding the recalls on the Z, the G35 has those too. You may want to call in and have them research your vin number.
Re: Trade G for Z ?
Not only do I think the G is better than the Z, but the G35 is also one of the top resale value cars. The Z however is not. http://www.money.cnn.com./pf/feature.../resale_values
Re: Trade G for Z ?
For what it's worth (your own opinion is all that really matters for you), here's my $.02. Aside from the point about the Z being a true sports car, and slightly lower and faster than the G (although I drove both and couldn't feel any difference), the G wins in every other way for me. I find the Z's styling to be edgy at best from some angles, but really ugly from others, the rear in particular. So for me the G wins on styling, warranty, storage space, passenger space (with virtually no compromise in performance - an amazing feat), resale value and dealer network. I've never doubted my choice or lusted after a Z for even a moment.
Re: Trade G for Z ?
G ALL THE WAY!!! I'm stickin' to my guns. Not one bit of regret. The rear of the 350Z is just plain FUNKY! Since both are so fast and all people will be staring at is the rear while they are eating your dust the rear view if the car is all the more important IMO.
Re: Trade G for Z ?
I posted on the 350z site .. cause I wanted this dudes turbo'd z for a straight up trade for my loaded black g... didn't pan out...but, now I am glad it didn't, how else could I have carted around 3 chicks in my car, goin on about the nav and how nice this and that is !!

Re: Trade G for Z ?
I used to own a Z, which I totalled about 2 month ago. Now I own a G35c. I have had my G for a month now. After driving the G for a month, my opinion about the 2 great cars are as follows.
Z = True sports car
- Alot more sporty
- Sporty & snug interior, IMO unique design
- Has more after market modifications
- Crappy BOSE system
G = Sport Sedan
- Drives a little heavier due to 400lbs. difference
- Also drives and feels like a Benz & BMW in ways
- Interior not as unique as the Z, has a more refined feel, feels like a sedan's interior
- Does not have much after market modifications
- More roomie, better placement of compartments, and better sounding BOSE system
I do miss the Z, and sometimes I regret of not getting another. Don't get me wrong I'm not bashing on the G, these are just my opinions so please don't hate. The G is a great car too, but IMO just doesn't give you that uniqueness feel of a Z. BUT the G is growing on me day by day.

Re: Trade G for Z ?
For some reason I have never been tempted by a Z before or after I bought the G. I guess I'm not a big fan of the styling (although I don't think it's bad, just not as good as some other cars I would consider), and the puny trunk really seem to have turned me off toward the Z.
If anything, I've been checking out some other cars I could have bought such as the Subaru STi and Lexus IS300. But when it comes right down to it, I've always wanted the Skyline and for all intents and purposes, the G35 coupe is my dream car. So no buyer's remoarse for me at all. I love the G more every time I get into the driver's seat.
