I found out the hard way... The early 03 had a different ECU and plug.

I had to send my UTEC back and get an EManage Ultimate because the plug didn't fit.

Isn't there a way to tell from looking at your vin? If it's above a certain # its .5? I swear Ive seen a list before but can't seem to find it.

I saw that list on one of the Infiniti parts suppliers websites while looking for a SAT radio kit. The list stated that cars before this VIN were not pre-wired for SAT.

The differences I remember for the 04's are:

The ECU had a different designation..... or different emission standards......I'm not sure if that is completely correct though!

The 04.5 AT's received a newer style shift **** (similar to the FX)

I believe the serial #'s started with the 8 digit instead of 3
