05/06 reliability?

Last week I test drove a G35 couple and Acura TL Type-S, since then I've been lurking on the G and Acura forums. Both cars were a blast. I'm really torn between the two. I'm not really looking for comparisons, what I want to know is how reliable are the 05/06's? The G forums seem to have quite a lot more posts regarding problems. Clutch problems, break problems. Quite a few of the problem posts are in regards to 03-04 years. Did Infiniti work out some of the problems from 05 on up?

i have an 06... almost to 30k miles are car has been a dream so far, the one thing i would suggest with our cars is check your oil a little more often than you would... but i haven't had any problems w/consumtion

damn you guys. that's not what i wanted to heara My brain is racking up the reasons to go with the TL but I still keep coming back to the G. I live in Michigan and the G is RWD so that and the reliability issue (which doesn't seem that bad now) are all that are holding me back.

Ok, I have the 06 6mt. I'm not going to lie to you and make you dissappointed after your ownership. Here a list of my problems.. Not every G has it and it because of poor quality control. A lot of people have Oil issues, I don't but I have these.

Problems:
1) Rear axle becomes loose for no apparant reasons and needs to be retorqued. When it's loose it causes some bad popping/cracking nose. See this vid:

2) Sunroof loves to crack and pop also when driving on the incline

3) Window motors have a history of taking a crap

4) Clutch is horrible. So bad that after 4 years, the fixed it with the new G37. Shifting is not smooth as the Honda/Acura. Clutch makes clanking noises at low speed in 1st gear. Usually when you shift back to neutral and let go of the clutch.

5) Paint sucks

6) Navi sucks. For 2006/2007? Honda/Acura were leaps year ahead with their touch screens... wtf

7) Tires wears out at 10-12k... Wth the acura. expect 30k+

8) Engine knocking sound even though ur using 91 octane.

Other then that, its a nice looking car.

who cares, the popping noise isn't normal or to be expected in a 35k+ car.
