It's official, I hate 5th gear.

So, I did what I'm not supposed to do and that's "get in a race."
Spare the lecture. I've heard it and given it 1 million times before.

After two late night, empty interstate runs, I have decided that 5th gear is the devil.

Lightly modded 350 z, dead even... until 5th. Then he walks slowly.
BMW M3... back and forth... until 5th. Then he RUNS away.

my mods - ztube and K&N.
JWT and Plenum spacer, here I come.

hey prison did you feel more pull when you got the z-tube?
i know i did, plus the intake sound was sweet! the spacer should definitely
help you out, and what exactly from JWT are you getting?

I didn't feel d*ck with the ztube. Supposedly I got horsepower, but I almost feel as if I LOST some in the mid range. I know it's probably not true, but that's why I don't trust butt dynos.
Oh, and I want the JWT popcharger instead of this crappy K&N I snatched from a friends garage.

Yeah, I know I need a spacer. Then an exhaust.

BTW: I DO need a turbo. But I'm trying to hold off. My Prelude is the race car. I really would like to leave this one as reliable, and WARRANTY friendly as possible.

Oh well, I had navi and he didnt so I imagine he got lost on the way back to his hotel, which means I win anyway... right?

Don't expect anything from the JWT p/c. If anything, you're only going to do more harm. I think you're setting yourself up for a disappointment if you're switching over to the p/c for "gains."

The z-tube was never meant to provide any more "power" than the stock g-tube.

Hrm. So back to the drawing board. CAI or stillen.....................

Anyway, I don't race this car that much. So I'm not going to go ***** out like I normally would. I just like to have a little bit more bite behind the bark.

face it...general concensus on here is that ALL INTAKES do lil or nothing to imporve performance. i know i love the sound of my JWT p/c and maybe, just maybe adds a bit but nothing to win or lose a race. if ur gona get one, the JWT p/c or Stillen intake is probably the "best"

Yeah. I never counted on an intake giving me anything. That's why I wasn't surprised when I didn't notice anything.

That's why I want a plenum spacer, an exhaust, and some test pipes. I know those give a little bit of power. Not a whole lot, but maybe enough to notice a difference.
