Orange T20 Bulbs?

I'm thinking about replacing the front turn signal lense with a clear lense, but I want to keep the light orange. Does anyone know if there's an orange t20 bulb?

Re: Orange T20 Bulbs?

I've had my clear corners for about 5 months now with no problems as far as people trying to steal them. Then again, I live in a guarded and patrolled apartment complex and I work on a military base. However, clear corners are not what I was refering to. I'm talking about the turn markers in the front of the car by the headlights. I did find out that Polerg makes a T20 in amber. I'll probably go with that. Does anyone have experience with Polerg bulbs? Also, I read about painting the tips of the bulbs silver to keep for seeing the bulb when the lights are off. Does anyone know what type of paint I should use or where to get it? If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.

Re: Orange T20 Bulbs?

you may want to contact joenismo who posts on this site all the time....he did a post on removing the amber lense on his car and replacing it with a clear pc....it requires you to remove the whole headlight assembly and baking it to get it apart and then cutting out the lense and so on...its a lot of work and should be done with care as not to damage the assembly or have a possible leak which would cause condensation build up inside the unit.....LOL 2old4this

Re: Orange T20 Bulbs?

Yes there are orange bulbs for our turn signals. The only place I was able to find them was at Autozone, the parts store. I had trouble when I did mine because I had my headlights apart for about three days just trying to find the orange bulbs. I searched everywhere, I was going to eventually paint my clear ones. So I went to Autozone to get some transparent orange paint and there they were. They were listed for an S-10 - Blazer, but it is the same bulb.

Joe,

If you get a chance, can you take a pool at this bulb and see if it'll work in the turn signal. Also, do you know how to paint the tips of the bulbs?

Re: Orange T20 Bulbs?

Those will not work because they are only a single filiment bulb and you need a dual filiment bulb #7443. I also searched the internet when I couldn't find mine; Autozone was the only place. Once you get your bulbs you can lightly spray paint them silver so when they are not lit up you can't see the orange behind the clear lense. I wouldn't recommend spray painting them orange or getting an orange cover to go over the clear bulb.

Does it matter what kind of paint I use or can I use just any type of silver spray paint?

Re: Orange T20 Bulbs?

I would use hi-temp paint just because the bulb will get hot when you have your headlights on; just to be on the safe side.
