Where's the key hole for the trunk? Is that an 2005 option?

New to the forum, but joined to share an idea.

Why don't you just buy the passenger side door handle from Japan? (Wouldn't that be the driver side door handle in the states?) That way you wouldn't have to have a "plug" cover the key hole. You could always put a spare battery in the trunk for the key fob (incase your battery dies). Just use your key to open the trunk and you're set.

This was either a good idea or a brain fart. Not sure which

Good idea Neffster. You just need to get one of those hide-a-key magnets or duct tape an extra battery for the remote inside the wheel well or engine compartment some place that it's accessible.

Re: Key Hole Plugs?

Hmm... I will definitely look into the MB keyhole plugs. but who the heck would I get to paint that dinky little thing??

could somebody look into the JDM door handle? it's a clever idea, but I don't know if it's a good idea ... imagine you're out on a date and the receiver stops working or something.

Re: Key Hole Plugs?

With the plugs being so small, couldn't you use the touch-up paint and paint them yourself?

"imagine you're out on a date and the receiver stops working or something."

I would just call ONStar and have them open it for me.

Please note this a joke, along the lines of using the key to open the trunk.

Re: Key Hole Plugs?

Great find! It looks really good.

If its not a pain in the **** to get off and if you can still keep the keyhole under it, its only an $18 piece.
