Rear seat release disconnected... how do i get my seats down?

Well, it seems that when I upgraded my fuel pump and I had to remove my rear seats, I forgot to connect the rear seat release cable before I put the rear seats back in. I have the release cable sticking out so I can tug on it, but when I do, the rear seat still does not unlatch. Is there an alternate way to access the rear seat latch so I can fold the seat down and reconnect the cable?

I have heard of a red strap that can be used to release the rear seats, does the 03 have this? Mine is the very first gen g35, 11/02 production.

(i cant access it from the trunk because I have a sub box that is bolted down.)

Just remove the lower half of the seats by pulling up on them hard until they pop out. Then you should be able to access the red strap, and likely reconnect the line

Like alot have already said, the red strap is directly in the middle of the seat. Just push you hand in between the seat back and bottom and feel around. The strap is about 1 1/2" wide, so you will feel it when you find it.
Then, just give it a tug and the seat should release for you....

Hmm I will look, I already popped the bottom part of the back seat off and didnt see it. Might have to just get at the lock on the top with something thin as mentioned.

Even if you didn't see the red strap, you should have seen the cable that unlatches the seat, it runs right underneat the seat bottom
