I realize the paint may be a bit over the top, depending on your tastes,

I'm somewhat conservative so it's definitely too much for me but I can appreciate the workmanship that went into it.

Very creative and definitely a quality job...

Haven't looked at your pics yet, but sure it will be nice. I think a lot of people will be interested in your stillen supercharger. I pulled up the site for stillen for the first time today and notice that they offer a 3 year engine warranty. I am curious about an extended warranty since I have one running through 7 years. Please keep us posted on measurable performance increase such as quarter mile and zero to sixty times. Now I'm going to check out your pics.

Very menacing paint job, yo! And the performance upgrades are not too shabby either.

All that effort and no body mods?

I would have carried the paint scheme further back, into the quarters. It looks like a very high quality job.

Re: Project Coupe out of the paint shop...

We're still working on the car, so there could be body modifications later, it's not out of the question. However, with the JIC coilovers the car is already VERY low so if we were to add any parts that sit on the bottom of the car (front lip, side skirts, etc..) I'm bet they'd scrape on a LOT of stuff (speed bumps, parking lot ramps, etc..) so I'm not sure we really want to do anything with that just now. The paint wasn't really my idea, I'm all about performance personally =D
As for the rear section of the car being a bit.. uhh.. "naked" we're working on it right now.

Did they repaint the whole car white or painted over or whatever of your stock paint?

Re: Project Coupe out of the paint shop...

Too much for me hits the nail on the head here.
Obviously quality work, and the under hood work is superb (whatever was done to the hood itself to accomodate the SC is intensely better than Stillen's), but I wouldn't for a minute even consider a paint job like that for my vehicle. I would prefer something far more subtle.

Re: Project Coupe out of the paint shop...

The whole front of the car was sanded down and then the new paint was airbrushed on.

Actually, that is a Stillen hood... it was painted on the bottom w/ the factory color paint and then the design was painted on the top.

I'm really stoked about the performance/drivetrain parts on the car. It may not make a TON of power, like some of the other FI setups, but we want it to be reliable and something that we can beat on daily and have it keep wanting more, without much fuss. Plus, here in AZ we're limited to 91 octane (unless you spend a ton and get 100 octane race fuel, or higher...) and it can get REALLY hot in the summer and I know that's not good for boosted cars, especially ones with high compression too. I/We should know more on the tuning aspect of these parts here very soon. I'm working on some dyno time and some skidpad time, if possible, for some real world numbers. =)
