You're contradicting yourself. You said Joker wasn't racing him, but the race would have ended up how he said one car length.

How do you know this? Please tell me you witness an actual race and you aren't basing this on theory (numbers).

 

If u want the real truth, then it is going to be dissapointing for u.
E36 M3 5MT is faster than G35 auto, BOTH BONE STOCK!. Now with the 6MT stock it is a very close race from 40-140 G35 having the edge after 100mph. Don't ask me how i KNow.

Again, like redlude i dont see how the M3 would get "Smoked" so badly.

 

^+ 1 in a manual it is a drivers race. But the auto G35 will have troubles.

 

I've never raced one, so I'll take my "smoked" comment back.

But it would be nice to race one someday and see what the outcome would be?

 

From numbers and my own personal experience. I've run an e36 m3 on the freeway, and he had 1/2-1/4 car on me by the time we shut down. I have a 6mt with a revup engine. Joker has an AT nonrevup. Thus my approximation of ~1 carlength. Aside from that look at the stock numbers. We run anywhere fron 14.5-14.0 in the 1/4 relatively stock. E36 M3's run from 14.6-13.8 stock. Its a drivers race in any case, and no on will be getting "smoked". I think even Joker will agree to that.

I've done pretty well against v8 Dodge Charger, 350z, e46 M3, and a e39 540i. So it was hard for me to put the e36 M3 in this same category.

 

Let me give u a good example. As far as e46 M3 goes. I have raced about 5 diffrent E46 M3s and 4 of them I won from 0-90 mph. Then i knew a guy actually friend of mine that i ran with, he is a exepltional driver. Well I got smoked by him by 4 cars from 0-90. M3 is a type of car that the owner needs to know how to drive it. First 4 M3 I raced, I was getting dissapointed by the M3 and how fast it was, and then there was this guy who knew how to drive it and then smoked me like there is no tomorrow. So a car that is a second slower or faster than u, it is possible to lose or win to a car like that. This proves that U are a better driver than the 350z or the M3 that u have raced.

 

This is exactly what I'm saying. It is a driver's race if the cars are close in comparison.

When I raced the e46 M3. The guy obviously didn't know how to race it. I think I heard him miss a gear.

In the 350z race. I knew my car better. Because I beat him and got in front of him in his lane.

In the Charger race. It was a tie. The guy said I'm not going anywhere. So we laughed an agreed it was even split.

In my buddy 540 i. I had a good launch, maintained a car length and he could not close the gap before we shut it down.

So yeah. I'm not saying our cars are faster than these in my list, but like you said, it's a driver's race.

 

Personally I have never had issues with E36 M3's. E46 M3's are a different story. Beaten some with bad drivers, and have been worked by some with good drivers.

 

I believe with the M3 and M5 they are different types of launch modes. So if a driver is not familiar with their car, they will get beat.

From spending my time on the M5 forums, this was a classic question about launches.

 

That's why the kill section is such crap. 99% of races are driver races anyway, so why make the type of car the title of the thread?
