PLEASE HELP regarding my fuel mileage!!!!

hey guys, i have Big question regarding my gas mileage. I picked up a used auto 03 about a year ago. After the first oil change that i gave it i started to check how much mileage i could get and i got around 330ish before i filled up( i know realize how much dam gas these cars have when the light comes on!!, easily could have made it to 350) This was great to me since my last car was a honda and it was getting round 350. Well lately, after the second oil change, the car is barely reaching 250 or so before the light comes on. NOW the question is, "can a dirty air filter(stock) make that much of a different in mileage being that goodyear told me i need a new one?" I opted NOT to get the new oem filter since i am planning on an intake system, mostly likely the K&N. My gas mileage just sucks really, really bad now in my opinion and i dont have any "check engine lights" ever. I sometimes feel like im driving my expedition!!! Anyhow, if you guys have any info that would be great. Oh, just to let you know the only performance mods are a full borla exhaust system, and headers and i use synthetic blend oil with Lucas stabilizer and gas treatment for both changes.
I called the local infiniti dealer and they instructed me to get a new filter and all get my injectors cleaned. ANY IDEAS???

your foot got heavier...

j/k... i drive about 90% city and i get 220 miles on a fill-up. At 50/50 city/highway, i get about 300 MAX. So i think 250 for you is fine. 350 is just ridiculously high IMO...

How many miles on the car?

Sounds like lead foot with almost all city driving. 250 sounds about right for semi-spirited city driving IMO.

yeah it's all about the foot, not really the car, maybe partially,

i generally get 260 -280 when the light first comes on. and i drive city all the time.

Don't use miles per fillup to compare gas mileage. Go the extra "mile" and calculate the miles driven vs. the gas used (how much you had to fill to get the tank full). You can't rely on the light to go off at the same time all the time.

well the car has 65000 miles, and i really dont drive that hard. The car usually revs no higher than 4 grand in second. Thats becuase i am trying to drive easier so the car doesnt use as much gas. Take off i usually dont do hard, maybe every fifth or so. City driving is not it, I LIVE IN SOUTH JERSEY, so it is not the driving from stop to stop sign, my drive to work is bout 15 to 20 minutes of an average of 50ish. I really think that car is getting less mileage. HELP PLEASE..

do the obvious things with a car with that many miles, change the plugs, change the air filter, check air pressure in tires, change the belts and fluids

I feel sorry for anyone not getting more than 250 miles on a tank. I get 300+ even when I'm on in frequently. I don't know buddy but you guys gotta start checking things out because somethings not clicking.

I agree . . . 300 miles per tank should be no problem . . . I go anywhere from 310-330 average.
