According to my owners manual (sedan non-revup models are recommended to run at least 87 AKI, with 91 AKI for improved performance)

coupe models:

Use unleaded premium gasoline with an octane rating of at least 91 AKI (anti-knock index)number.

If premium gasoline is not available, unleaded regular gasoline with an octane of 87 AKI number (research octane number 91) may be temporarily used, but only under following precautions:

*Have the fuel tank filled only partially with unleaded regular gasoline, and fill up with unleaded premium gasoline as soon as possible.

*Avoid full throttle driving and abrupt acceleration

In the next page:

However, you may use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 85 AKI number in these high altitude areas [over 4,000ft (1,219mm)] such as: ......

If you are looking to save 10-20 cents per gallon, you should have bought a honda, not a G. Wait until you need to replace the tires or brakes...hope you don't have Brembos buddy!

Why would you want to ruin your car that's worth thousands to dollars to save a few cents?

I will always run 91 but Im driving my sedan loaner car (revup 05 sedan auto) and its running fast on 87. Car feels like it has more torque with the auto due to the torque converter making more.

Yeah whats with this Rev-Up/Non Rev-Up motor stuff?

Are all Autos Non-Revs & All 6MT all RevUps or is it just certain years or something?

6MT Coupe
^^^Agree lol, but I'll answer AaronJP question, then I'm done here.

All 03-04 coupe/sedans/5AT/6MT = non revup

All 05-06 5AT's = non revup

All 05-06 6MT's = revup

07 coupe/5AT = non revup

07 coupe/6MT = revup

All 07 sedans = new gen VQ35HR's (SAE 306hp)
oct rating only/recommended, I'll guess 'only' prem due to it's hp.

All 08 G37's = VQ37VHR (SAE 330hp Compression ratio 11.0:1)
No brainer...premium only.

See ya.....

91 ftw. if you think about it and do the math it really is only like 2-3 dollars more a fill up than 87 so it shouldnt hurt your wallet that much.
