Re: Whats up with these TL owners?
G35_TX, I often visit the Acura-TL.com forum and read what they chat about...there really hasn't been much bad-mouthing about the G35 (Coupe & Sedan, in general) and they are a very calm group...at least more calm than us on this forum. We go crazy whenever a "G35C vs Car XXX "thread comes up. And for what it's worth, I would take an 04 Acura TL over an 04 Infiniti G35 Sedan any day of the week. I like the G35S, but I have a such a soft spot for the styling of the 04 Acura TL and it offers so much for such a low price, IMHO.

Re: Whats up with these TL owners?
That's all pretty funny...since my dealership handles both the Acura and Infiniti product line, I've had to familiarize myself with the TL. It is a FANTASTIC car...especially at the price...BUT...
It ain't no G...TL drivers should attempt to keep up at their own peril...

Re: Whats up with these TL owners?
i also have a 2000 TL that is our "family sedan" the G is the driver car and the Tl is used for family duties.....no match for the g in stock form anyway...but not too bad for a sedan.
Re: Whats up with these TL owners?
I live in Northern NJ and travel to Parkway a lot. It can be pretty busy to race on the highway. Rarely do I get someone trying to race me though.. Most people just check the car out and stare... Every once in a while will I get someone trying to race. Some of the people are just too funny to take serious. I had a Mini Cooper and Volkswagen trying to race me at the same time - I just laughed. I also had a Mitsubishi Eclipse beg
Re: Whats up with these TL owners?
I didn't finish my post - A Mitsubishi Eclipse begged me to race him one night... I was tempted but it was on a cop heavy road and didn't feel the need to risk getting a ticket for a car that I have nothing to gain and everything to lose from.

Re: Whats up with these TL owners?
I have seen that it's not what you drive that gets people to race, I have driven my Jetta to work and had people try and race me for no apparent reason but to be in front. Then sometimes I drive my G to work and the same thing happens, they seem to think that we bought the car to race....then there are days (when the weather is good) that I drive my Mitsu and then no one races me, instead they give me space....haha. I suppose it is the way society is now.

Re: Whats up with these TL owners?
The other day I was in heavy traffic and I saw a super riced up subaru WRX STI, and I thought for sure he was gonna want to race. Instead, the guy slows down, and checks out my G from all angles. Maybe the guy actually had good taste disguised in all his riceyness?
On another note, I was driving my G35Sedan that I have since sold for a coupe down the freeway in Scottsdale, AZ a few months ago. This super riced up late 90's model Integra pulls with limo tint, giant exhaust, and powered by Apex stickers on every window. Not wanting to waiste my time the guy drives parallel to me for about 1 minute before I give up and have to race him. By the time I'm doing 4000 RPM's in 3rd the guy is 4 cars behind me, I pull in front of him, and then he pulls along side revs his engine and tries to race me again. This time I let him go, he goes flying off doing 120 or so down the freeway and I sit back at cruising speed laughing the rest of my trip.
Most of the TL drivers around here are typically seniors and drive very slowly. I have yet to race one, and I highly doubt I will. Maybe in a few years some of the younger crowd will picked up a used 2004. Right now, aggressive TL driving to me would mean seeing one go 10 mph over the speed limit, lol. I know a 19 year old guy who drives a 2001 non-type S TL, he drives pretty aggressively but he's smart enough to realize going against my G35Coupe would be a lose lose situation. Maybe on the east coast TL drivers have more testosterone or something, lol.
BTW: I no longer own the sedan in my profile, I recently traded it for the 10X more fun graphite coupe. Sorry for any confusion, lol.
