Ok guys and girls - an update

Mercury Insurance has just declared my G a total loss. The bodyshop estimated approximately $18,000 worth of repairs (pre-repair) and could easily turn into $20k+ worth of repairs. Mercury's Claims inspecters thoroughly inspected the car and declared it a total loss.

I am happy and sad at the same time. Happy, cuz I can get a new car and don't have to deal with the troubles of rattles and the like, but on the other hand I am sad; to see my baby salvaged and have to wait (potentially) on a new one.

Well hopefully I will speak to the total loss adjuster next week.

Does anyone have and advise for speaking to the Total Loss adjusters?

So now we enter the next phase - Total Loss adjustment.
Has anyone gone through this before, where they had to negotiate their car's value?

As for the damage, the chassis floor had some damage to it, thus it was declared a loss. I went down to the body shop on Monday to collect my clear corners and say my final goodbyes to my baby. She is now in the hands of the insurance company.

Anyway, if anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Damn thats pretty strange that they declared it a total loss....But I mean at least u can get a white one now.

 

I beleive there was unsafe structural damage.
