Blew away by the dealership today...

I went to Metroinfiniti today hoping that I can get my tranny replaced because my syncros has gone bad according to many members from the forum. I had a technician test drove my car. He was shifting really really slow through 2nd to 3rd as I told him that it grinds in 2nd to 3rd, so he said he didn't feel anything wrong. There it is, they deny that my tranny is bad and told me that they never heard of anything about tranny gone bad on the infiniti G35... They also said that people online are just bullshxting me that they don't know anything about infiniti... :'[ What should I do now..? They said they don't think theres anything wrong with my tranny, but they said my clutch is bad so they suggest me to get it replaced there. $1700 is the price quote they gave me.. I didn't say a word and I left...

Can somebody help me on this?? Anyone live in Los Angeles area? Which dealership do you guys go to..?

That sucks man. Poor dealership that doesn't believe helping you will bring in future business. I would go to a different dealership. Some people here should be able to recommend one. I went to a dealership here and the technician knew right away what I was talking about. He said bring it in and they'll take care of it. I did and they've been awesome.

i would go to another dealer or a family mechanic and get the problem properly deduced. if it turns out to be the tranny, then you can go back to the original dealer with proof and read them the riot act.

Wow! I feel for your. I had the same experience with Sacramento Infiniti. Hard to find a good dealership to work with these days isn't it?

That does suck. I would go to another Infiniti and even a Nissan service department and also a private tranny specialist. Good luck!

im sure he's right. he says you need a clutch. replace the clutch, and if it still does it, get mad at someone. our transmissions are more on the performance side so i seriously doubt your tranny is going out unless you track it and abuse it. and if you did that you'd really have to abuse it our trannies (mt) are pretty solid. get a clutch.

I got my 03 tranny replaced by Infiniti of Costa Mesa, CA. Tell them to look up my name, Sean Labarrere- 2003 G35 coupe 6mt. Tell them to read my file and that can be your basis for the tranny problems that our older G's have. Tell them that, hope it helps
