Broken rear seat.

Please, without telling me to have it serviced, I was wondering if anyone's back seat does not fold down because the button is stuck in the "pressed" position. All I did was test it out and when I put the back seat back to normal, the damn button got stuck and I can't get it to pop out. Anyone have this problem?

Help, only had the car for a week. Tx.

Re: Broken rear seat.

it's not broken...if it is so is mine as well....
I noticed this on my car the first day I took it home...my other infiniti had a little **** for each side inside the car...
the button in the center of the seat on the Coupe stays down unless you open the trunk and pop the seat..
I guess they figure if your going to put anything in the car that big it would be loaded from the trunk side in......I don't think its a problem just japanese logic..... : ) <font color=blue>2old4this</font color=blue>

Re: Broken rear seat.

This is true. The only way to lay the seat down is from the trunk.

Re: Broken rear seat.

I hope both of you are correct. All I know is that the button was in the up position before I played with it, and I think it always should be in the "up" position, maybe I'm wrong. I did hear a clicking noise as to say that it was snapped properly. Will look in the trunk however for a pully thing. Tx.

Re: Broken rear seat.

I have a 2004 model, it may be different from the 2003, maybe?

Re: Broken rear seat.

When you say "up" position do you mean it sticks about it's little housing and you can see red?

If so, the red means your seat hasn't been properly locked back into an upright position.

Re: Broken rear seat.

Listen to TrentaCinque.....
when I messed with mine I heard a noise right after when I was driving....the button showed "<font color=red>RED</font color=red>" and it wasn't in the locked position....as soon as I locked it the button retracted down so no <font color=red>RED</font color=red> was showing....
trust us on this one......or take it to the dealer!!!!!! sorry had to say that...: ) <font color=blue>2old4this</font color=blue>

Re: Broken rear seat.

I love this site. I probably should read the manual more, but having you guys provide the answer is so much better. I feel relieved. The red button is not "up" and I guess that's a good thing. I wish i knew this before I had my tints done today, it would have made the job alot easier for the tint guy. Tx.

Re: Broken rear seat.

TrentaCinque is correct.

The **** in the middle of the rear seat on the top is an indicator to show if the seat is in the locked position. The reason it is there, is so the driver can see it all times (like driving). It has no other function except to indicate if the rear seats are in the fully locked position. The only way to fold the seats forward is to use the release handle in the trunk.

When restoring the rear seat to the upright position, make sure that the red indicator drops down into the seat. If not, the rear seat could fly forward when you brake.
