Yes, you are right, you didn't use the wording "Massive". I stand correct. LOL.

Ok, this is still very confusing to me and I honestly don't know why. LOL. I just want the MOST gains I can get out of my 2003 coupe WITHOUT re-tuning.

What's confusing to me is the ORIGINAL MREV2 was to be used on the REVUP engine ONLY...now the motordyne site says it's been *updated* for use on ALL coupes.

What I have (2003 NON-REVUP 6MT)
Should I:

A.) Get the 5/16" Spacer and call it a day?
*NO TUNING

B.) Get the 5/16" Spacer AND the MREV2 Lower Collector and call it a day?
*TUNE WILL BE NEEDED?

Sorry I'm retarded guys, please bare with me.

Thanks Guys!

Yep, that's me. Tony

A.) Get the 5/16" Spacer and call it a day?
*NO TUNING
This is what I most often recommend on a NON-revup engine. It certaintly has the best bang for the buck.

B.) Get the 5/16" Spacer AND the MREV2 Lower Collector and call it a day?
*TUNE WILL BE NEEDED?
This can certaintly be done but I most often only recommend it for the hardcore Mod Junkie who wants the most gains regardless of cost. There are a lot of people who do both on the NON-revup, but they truely are Mod Junkies. Dynos show another 4-6 HP through various parts of the midrange when the MREV2 is added. ...Nothing spectacular.

And its actually quite rare that you will ever need a reflash. Its not untill you add a whole lot of mods that it is needed.

MREV2, spacer, intake, exhaust and test pipes... and you should get your A/F checked. You will be near the threshold of needing a reflash. Add cams and headers to that list and there is no way around it.

Also note that there is some variation from car to car. Some run richer than others.

---------

Just a note for you guys with a REVUP engine.

The MREV2 and spacer is a very good combination on your engine. And your ECU's also adapt to mods easier than the non-revup. Just a FYI.

Hey Tony, thought that was you. Cool.

Ok, great.

I think I'm finally being set straight.

I'm not necessarily a "mod junkie" [yet] considering that my baby is still STOCK; but I do want to squeeze the most out of this car going the NA route.

So if the MREV2 is going to gain me a few more ponies, then I'll fork over the added $$$. I know it's NOT going to be the "best bang for the buck", but if it gains, it gains, and that passes my requirements.

I'll do the 5/16" spacer and then:
Grounding kit;
Intake (JWT Pop/STILLEN);
Stillen Headers;
Stillen High flow cats;
Stillen Exhaust;
JWT Cams;
etc etc etc...and leave the MREV2 last on the list if I still want those 5 extra ponies for the cost of a small HDTV. HA!

Oh yeah, and send my ECU to Technosquare.

Thanks so much for taking the time to clear all this up for me Tony.

Looking forward to seeing how your companies products do on my baby.

Thanks again guys!,

You know, I'm unsure if it's worth it or not; I'll soon find out and let you know.

I'm sure you can search it "Grounding" and find all sorts of in-depth discussions on it's PRO's. I was "sold" on it long ago...just never got around to installing the kit another member on here made and sold (HIGH quality stuff) for like $40.00....not the most expensive mod, and you *might* get a slight improvement in gas mileage as well as a few ponies.

If anything it should help your electrical system out as a {whole} and let the engine and all the OTHER mod's you decide to slap on your coupe do it's job and do it a little bit better??

You know if the Japanese "tuner market" accepts it (referred to as "EARTHING") then it can't be all smoke and mirrors, can it !?!?!?!

Well see.....

P.s. I got the "smoke" color and am looking forward to (if anything) the added "spice" to the engine bay. Should look nice!

If you are REMOTELY interested, contact:
Gordon Gee <groundinggear@yahoo.ca>

If he is still manufacturing the sets, you'll get the best quality for the cheapest price....(ie. Don't waste money on the NISMO verison or other vendors, b/c you will indeed be paying for the names).

Thanks Guys!

Hydrazine: What HP/TQ gains can be expected for the non-revup with only adding the 5/16 in. spacer?

Thats easy.

Just click the dyno link blow (in my sig) for a complete analysis of spacer performance.

It shows performance in just about every way it can be viewed.

Its not easy at all (for me). I'm unsure of what year vehicle was tested, the graphs do not read easily for me (gif files are unclear) and, there is no summary regarding the dyno. All I'd like to know is what the average HP and TQ gains are for a 5/16 inch spacer on a non-revup. Just a quick figure, summarizing the gains.

Badboy06,

Would you happen to have the pre/post dyno plots of the 22hp/29?

If you could scan and email, or post them here, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

Are you using firefox or explorer to view them?

Did you try clicking on the dyno plots? They are posted in maximum size and in maximum resolution.

No size or resolution reductions of any kind were used on the plots.

Explorer. If you get a chance, just a one liner of the numbers would be appreciated.

11-13HP peak added power? Is that what you are looking for?

Only reason I don't have the MREV2 on my car is because im probably pushing the limit in terms of AFR... well, atleast for my comfort.

I have the 5/16 spacer, Stillen intake, F.I Exhaust, & F.I Resontaed Test Pipes. I'm gonna be getting the MREV2 as soon as I have a little more to spare for a reflash

I'm Rev-Up by the way. Tony, keep up the good work.
