new coupe owner, i have a few questions.
i'm Rob and i just bought a 03 G35c with about 26k on it from the original owner who took ridiculously good care of it. i love the car, i think it might even be faster than my mustang
anyways, i have a few questions. 1, is there anyway to get rid of the sound of sand/dirt hitting the inside of the fender wells? i will be driving and hear the clank/sound of things hitting metal, anyway to solve this? 2, is there anyway to make the horn honk when i hit the lock button on my remote? 3, why does the car always turn the ac on whenever i hit anything to change the mode for the heat? and finally, has anyone here removed the trim on the doors from their car? i want to remove mine but i am a bit nervous about the paint being a different color since it's 4 years old. Thanks in advance.and here's a picture for good measure.

To answer your questions:
1. Stop driving on dirt roads.
Seriously, though, I've no idea2. Push the lock and unlock buttons on your remote at the same time, this will change the setting so that is honks and flashes when you lock, and just flashes when you unlock (I believe).
3,4 - no idea
2. hold both lock and unlock down till you here the honk
3. thats the way it is... it sucks
4. i think you will be fine if you remove them... now if you had black id be worried
o yeah Welcome...

Question 3 answer....
This works well and will not harm the paint.
* Go buy a spool of fishing string from Wal-Mart....30lb test line will probably work.
* Cut yourself off a piece that is a couple feet long.
* Wrap the ends of the cut line around a solid object....something like dowel rod.
* Gently wedge the fishing line between the molding and the door.
At this point you should have the fishing line sandwiched by the molding and door....and have one end of the wrapped line in one hand and the other end in the other hand.
* Gently pull the string along the length of the molding severing the bond between the molding adhesive and the door. It makes it a little easier if you have someone with you to help hold the molding away from the car as you go down the length.
* Now take some decal/door molding adhesiver remover and remove the left over adhesive from the door and you should be good to go. You can get this at any of your local autoparts store.
P.S. Please be advised that the paint revealed may be darker in color because it has not been exposed to UV light and you may see a stripe down the side of the car after removing the door molding.

Welcome Rob.....!
The fishing line idea will work to remove the side molding, take your time and
try not to hurry this process. To remove the remaining glue buy some Glue
Gone from the local auto parts store and saturate the area rubbing gently so
you don't create scratches. Wash the area and use an item like Meguiar's
ScratchX to blend in the area where the moldings were, now wax and your
good for another 100K miles. This process is the same as removing the
letters from the trunk lid, we call debadging......Good Luck Rob...nice G!

1. get some bumper sticker remover
2. clean surface area.
3. spray top of molding with bumper sticker remover
4. let soak for about 3 min
5. use floss or fishing string to slice threw
6. continue to use more spray if need to
7. if glue is left behind let it dry for awhile then use your fingers to roll out the glue. (or as stated above)
8. wipe off any overspray
9. wash area or your car
10. apply some wax
you will have a difference in color but will eventually blend in

thanks for all the tips guys. the mustang is a 93 GT and i put the cobra grille on it, it looks a lot better than the stock one. I am going to see how the noise from the wheel wells is once i put the winter tires/rims (blizzaks) on. and it has a borla exhaust, the only modded part of the car. also, what do you guys think about debadging the trunk lid? rice or nice? and i also got the horn to honk when i lock it. i've only had it for a week so i'm still figuring some of the cool things about the car out, the other day i was getting gas and i locked the doors when i got out, so i went to pop open the gas cap and it wouldnt open
so then i unlocked the door and it popped open on me, neat little feature.
