two bills to install a front lip???

went to metro infiniti in socal today to get serviced... asked the guy how much to install a front lip for the coupe- he said $200. Considering that I bought the thing for 300 from grubbs, i find that pretty ridiculous.

anyone here installed one before? is it hard? The idea of drilling holes into my baby's chin myself just doesn't sound appealing to me.

ROFL! seriously, that is just insane. A good color-matching shop would charge you $200 to paint and install a full BUMPER. Just to get on a full lip shouldn't cost more than $50.

man tell metro infiniti to kiss me ****. 2 bills is major rip off. if i were you, i take it to local colision speciallist and let them install it. Should cost you no more than 1 bills. the work, i think require no more than an hour worth.

yeah i was seriously pretty shocked (service guy gave me some bullshit about how difficult it is to install and that the "techs say a lot of bad words while installing it because it gets frustrating"... whatever the blue fock that means...) i may just DIY it, but just want to know what's involved...

Re: two bills to install a front lip???

i order my lip spoiler from japan. i didn't like the idea of drilling the hole on my baby. but i went ahead and do it. it wasn't that difficult either.

something like the front lip, i don't think it will require a lot of skill to install it. not like you putting clutch together or something.

please post the picture. just that the more i see, the more i am convince to get it...heheheh My car is lower and i am afraid i might destroy it if i install it. i keep scraping my car right now.

Re: two bills to install a front lip???

Hybrid25,

I installed mine last May and it took me about 2.5 hours. Half of that was spent making sure that the template is on the right spot. You need a lift or jack the front of the car so you'll have better access. Make sure that the template's alignment is correct before you start drilling. I put the template on a double adhesive laminate sheet -this way you can lay and peel the template as desired. Always double or triple-check your measurements before drilling and goodluck.
