Turning steering wheel damage tie rod?

Will turning the steering wheel to the max left/right damage anything? I was told that I should not turn the steering wheel to the max as this will damage the tie rod. Just checking if this is true. Thank you.

I've never heard of that but I'm interested to see if it's true or not.

Same here, but a friend had a CRV that requires a tie rod replacement and the tech told him that he should not do maximum turn on the steering wheel.

Nothing at all will happen to the tie rod ends. The reason why you dont want to take it to steering lock for long is to keep the power steering pump from failing prematurely. It puts out the most pressure at steering lock.

False, nothing will severly happen. You can turn your wheel all the way left or right. But start tunning it back when you hear a stressful sound, do not hold it to the maximum, just start slowly turning it back. Only do maximum if you parrallel(sp) park. But still try not to.
Thanks!
