Radio Memory Issues???

Hello All-

First off I'm new to the forums as I just bought a used 2005 G35 Coupe Automatic with/NAVI. I'm just learning all the things about the vehicle, and have come across an annoying issue. I've search about 50 pages of this forum and have not found what I was looking...so please be kind if this has been addressed already

So here is my issue regarding the radio. Everytime I turn on the car and take it for a spin, I would notice that my stereo sounds a bit off or muffled. I then press the "Audio" button and double checked my "Bass and Treble" settings and everything seems fine from the last time that I set it, but yet the stereo does not produce a crisp sound. My only way of dealing with this issue is that I would need to go back to "Audio", select the "Treble" and reduce the setting then increase it back to hear the crisp "Treble" notes. This happens every time I power the car off, and then power back on. It doesn't seem like it wants to hold the "Treble" settings unless I perform the method mentioned above.

What should I do? The vehicle has about another year of warranty left, and I'm not sure if the dealership will address this issue by replacing the head unit or anything else they need to do to correct the problem. Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

getting Lt/Rt seperation when it sounds muddied? I used to lose Lt/Rt, Ft/Rear seperations frequently on my Maxima, does sound change between disk and radio?

It's not the LT/RT separation. It's whenever I turn the stereo on that it does not retain the "Treble" and "Bass" settings even though it shows the settings as being correct. If I adjust the settings up or down, then you can tell that the quality has been enhanced. This happens with both radio and CD. I think the head unit will need to be replaced or something...but I've never experienced this before on any of my other vehicles in the past.

From what I've experienced if you keep the bass or trebble under 5 which is the max, the settings will keep. It seems that maxing them casues the issue. I keep both at 4 and they stay.

I have the same problem and I have already had my unit replaced at the dealer but it still does the same thing. I just keep it away from the 5 and -5 on both bass/trebble.
