Re: 2005 G35 changes from Grubbs

1st off wasn't suppose to be a wise *** comment...

It was supose to be like if you had the money for a 55grand or 100grand car...then why didn't you get it?

If I could afford an M3 or an M5 or RS6, E55 then I wouldn't have even blinked twice about getting the G...

So dont be soo touchy.

The G is a fast car...but like yuo said, not fast as you expected.

Once again...you didn't test drive it???

I guess if one truly had the money to afford such an expensive car, one would pay cash, and not bother with a lease. As for the acceleration times and terminal velocity of the G35c, there are few cars that can beat it for under $35k. Griping about the car not being fast enough as a daily driver is like complaining that your Pentium 4 PC is too slow to do word processing work. Sounds like a troll to me.

Re: 2005 G35 changes from Grubbs

In reply to Ehren's letter from Infinit and Grubbs statements, Infiniti has essentially confirmed that there will be changes. No comment on what, but there will be changes. Look at Honda, Toyota, GM, Ford or any other maker. There are always subtle differences from year to year, especially after the second year. Sometimes, but not often, there will be more obvious changes, such as interior changes or tail-light mods. Look at the 2000 to 2001 3-series. Tail light changes. Same for 2000 to 2001 Accord. It doesn't cost the manufacturer a whole lot to make changes to things obtained from suppliers. The sheet metal won't change, which I don't think anyone has hinted at. The interior or seats could change drastically from year to year.

My company manufactures the interior components for many models of cars for about every major car company, and before that, I worked for Honda in their new model group. We didn't finalize changes for September production until April, so I fully believe what Infiniti says in their letter. By July we were releasing changes to our dealer networks as long as it wasn't a whole new model. July should bring more concrete information.

Re: 2005 G35 changes from Grubbs

Personally speaking, what's kept me from snapping up a G35C is the interior.
Although the moveable gauge cluster is nice in theory, I think it makes the dash look like ***.
And that weak orange colour has to go, I've been in Murano's with the orange LCD's and I think the colour is terrible (blue like the Acura would be much cooler)

Also I've read on this board that the leather is of such poor quality that it wears really quickly (both seats and steering wheel).

I really hope there are drastic changes to the interior of the G especially to the dash and gauge cluster (but keep that slick shifter), cause the sheet metal is awesome!

I personally love the interior.

I hate Acura's coloring.

I think Orange or Red give the car a real luxurious look to it. Such as AUDI, BMW, and Mercedes use.

I agree. I like the G35c interior better than the 2004 TL. The only changes I would like is:

1. dials for volume and temp instead of buttons
2. the trip computer from the TL
3. real titanium instead of painted plastic

Well seeing as you wanna put your 2cents in here is your reply....Money is not issue here. The fact that someone leases a car doesnt have any bearing on there financial status..as a matter of fact statisticly , more people with money lease rather than buy because of convienience!!! In my terms leasing allows me to have a new car every few years which is what i prefer..And my griping about the G not being fast enough is protected by the 1st amendment..I bought the car for its uniquness among all those cars M3, E55 and so on..And as for everybody else commenting about the test drive, No i did not test drive it..the car was not in stock at the time so it was either order the car or wait 6 more months..anyhow how many dealers you know are gonna let you run the car through its paces..None in Ny thats for sure...
