Is alignment a must after lowering?

My car feels great after being lowered. No problem with alignment. why does it have to be aligned after lowering?

did you do it yourself?

do you notice your toe/camber out of wack?

your tires may start wearing unevenly, and this will be due to your toe/camber being screwy.

Re: Is alignment a must after lowering?

Alignment not only consists of whether you're able to feel the steering wheel pulling towards one side.........there are other specs that are thrown off as hueman mentioned........toe / camber. Whether it's necessary is really up to the owner. A lot of drifters prefer to run on -3 degrees of camber to improve on handling and drifting. If you're basically using the car for daily use and don't care much about driving it hard around the turns and stuff, then you should get your camber fixed. Adjusting the camber may affect the toe, so it really depends on how low you've lowered the car.

Yes, you should definately get your car realigned. Like Hueman and Wil stated, your car's specs are off and need to be aligned as close to factory specs as possible. Since the car was not designed in mind as a lowered car, you may not get to factory specs but can get close to Nissan's numbers.

Plus, you don't want premature wear on your tires or steering/suspension components. Not getting a $100 or so alignment might cost you hundreds more in repair bills later.

I did one after I put my wheels on. My car had no problems pulling to either side but I wanted to be sure with the new tires. My car was out of specs in just about every category. It's worth the $70-$80.
