does everyones car here make a little noise everytime you restart the engine and start accelerating a little? like a little mechanical noise from the front. the dealer told me it was the abs doing a self test. is this correct, or did they lie to me cuz they didn't want to fix my car?

Yes, it's the ABS self-test. I've found that if I'm in an inclined parking lot so that my foot happens to be on the brake pedal as I'm coasting downhill when it does it, you can really feel the vibration in the pedal.
