Do what I did, look at your budget, get financing approved and figiure out the proper down payment. They messed up the financing on my first option, but got it right on the second one. You want to wait to try to negotiate, until you've got your numbers right. I always try to get the most for the $$$ that I can get. I lurked through sites and found that most peeps want almost as much for their 05' as others want for their 06'. Autotrader is a good source for helping one figure out a true mrket value on the car. This is not a flame to anyones car at all but, there's a huge gap in the leather quality in the 03-04's to the 05-06's. I have a buddy that has an 03' and the leather quality is very poor. I own a 2K SE Max that had way better leather. Now my 06' coupe, (as much as it is no BMW) has truly higher quality leather. The 06' also has projector headlights, blutooth, it's pretty much the same thing as an 07'. The newer the car, the lower the mileage available on the car. It boils down to what kind of a hit your pocket can take. However, 03-07, they're all beautiful and I can't imagine anything out there even coming close to it in their price range. I know it was a bit lon-winded but, I hope it helps.

I mean can it still happen after 30k miles if it has not yet? Because there are 05/06 out there with no oil consumption problems right??

What would be the best way of purchasing a 05/06 with knowing for sure that its not going to give you problems.... because I remember reading threads that this problem starts very early.... hope I made some sense if not try to answer what you think the question was for

if you have over 30K you should be fine but im not to sure...

30k should be more than enough to determine if the engine has had or will have oil problems, but I am no expert. If any recall was done to the car, it would have been completed at an Infiniti shop, so it should be in their records.

Call the dealer and ask the same questions you asked here. As much as they drag some people around, if you are nice, I am sure they will give you reliable information with the intent of your return.

2004 G35 Coupe 6MT:
280hp
Brembo Brakes

2005 G35 Coupe 6MT:
298hp
NO MORE BREMBOS
Different interior slightly (plastic titanium color finished changed to real aluminum. Steering wheel buttons are lighted. MP3 reading CD Changer, no more cassette. Revised gauge cluster. Revised gearbox for smoother shifting. New 19" Rays forged wheels versus 18" wheels. Power recline on the two front seats versus 04 didn't have it. Revised climate control and clock.

30k should be fine. in the end....you could always get it checked out. But you should be alright with that.
