? for people whov'e taken it over 4K RPM....

Right, so for the first few hundred KMs i'm keeping it below 4....right now most I've been at is like 3,800 and even at those RPMs it has very decent power.......so for those who've broken it in and have had some fun with it, is there a totaly night and day difference in terms of power after 4000?

definately, I actually think it has something to do with the car using "drive by wire" electronics. I have about 1400mi on mine and haven't really opened it up yet. I've taken it to 5k and have found that the car (at least to me) seems to really jerk your head back aftter about 4k. But it seems to depend on how you hit the accelerator. If you just let the RPMs climb slowly you don't see as much. But if you hit the pedal hard and fast it's kinda like the computer inside wakes up and kicks the car in the ***. It's great!

Absolutely. I wouldn't be too worruied about taking her above 4000 during break in anyway. This engine feels bulletproof.

99atlantic, if you take it up to the higher RPMs, you can expect:

1. Your passengers being plastered into their seats
2. Louder engine roar
3. Objects in front of you coming at you at a very fast pace
4. Your heart thumping faster

all in a matter of seconds. If you've had a faster car before (I haven't), it may not be a big deal, but it certainly is an adrenaline rush for me

5. Gaining on CHP's *** real quick.

i cut across all 4 lanes on the freeway today. what I didn't see was CHP in the 2nd lane about 5 cars ahead. You'll really put your brembos to the test when taken her over 4k rpm's for sure.

Speaking of putting the Brembos to the test, I had to stop so hard in traffic today that my rear seats flew down. Don't know how that happened. Hmmm...

I'm sure it's obvious but make sure the seats are "locked" into place when upright. I noticed on mine after carrying some snowboards that I had to give the seats a little extra force when folding them back in order to make them lock. I know it's locked too cause the brembo's gave me a cop wake up call the other night too.

you WILL notice a serious power surge. I had two friends in the car, both car-savvy. We were going about 60mph in 6th gear. I was heading into a smooth curve. Without telling them, I dropped my 6MT into 4th and floored it. They both could not believe the acceleration. The comment was, "I knew the car had power, but that was IMPRESSIVE!." Now it is one of my favorite tricks! P.S. I did this at about 500 miles and the wheels did not come off, nor have I been arrested or otherwise detained by the warranty police.

RedRoK8, I'm sure you're right. Just thought it was odd since I've never folded the seats down...ever.

dub: I did the exact same thing when I got my car. The dealer must not have locked the back seat when they detailed it out. I was showing off the Brembos to a friend and the seat came flying down. Scared the #$^ out of us! Now I just remember to listen for the tell-tale "click" when I put it up.
