Re: Outside Temp Display...

I have the same issue. Even my corolla display an accurate temperature.
Thanks to g35Girl, I am going to show it to my dealer next time I take it in for oil change.

Re: Outside Temp Display...

g35girl, what would I do without you?
Hey, speaking of GFreaks, you are going to be up for a title change soon. I think I like GFreak better than Veteran .
GFreak, GFreak, what you gonna do, what you gonna do, when a title change comes up for you?

Re: Outside Temp Display...

while this isn't a big issue for me it detracts from the auto climate control usefullness because when you start the car and the display reads 10-15 degrees warmer than it is outside, the AC kicks in like a hurricane and blasts you outta the car for a few minutes..... not to mention the extra noise that goes along with it. so i just leave my auto off and use manual unless i'm already cruisin and then click on the auto.

Re: Outside Temp Display...

Does the auto use the outside temp? Not sure why it would do that, makes more sense it would only use the inside temp...

I have the opposite problem. Thermometer reads 81 degrees. The temperature display on my '06 reads 63 degrees. I thought I was crazy on Monday, when it said 69, and I was sweating my *** off. Turns out it was around 86. Anyone experience LOW readings? Is there a way to reset the thermometer? Where is the sensor, anyway?

you guys really nead to stop guessing. this is really embarrassing.

the outside temp sensor is described in the atc.pdf (automatic AC) section, pg 104 or thereabouts. it appears the sensor is under the hood somewhere connected to the "ambient sensor bracket". it probably get toasty under the hood esp under the sun. When u start to move the dead air starts to circulate.

if u think ur sensor is bad put a thermometer next to it for a min to cross check it.

My temperature gauge is fvcked too. Somtimes I know it will be at least 115 outside and it will say like 96. It works sometimes, but sometimes it just stays at one temperature. I am too lazy to take it to the dealer for something that small since it is all the way across town. Next time I have to go for something big I will get them to look at it.

My outside thermometer does the same thing if the car has been sitting in the sun awhile, especially on an asphalt parking lot. It drops 10-15 degrees as soon as I start driving.

The a/c runs based on an inside temp sensor, not the temp on the outside thermometer.

Yup. Today it was around 103 degrees and my outside temp. gauge said 76. Then, as the outside temperature started to come down, the gauge went up and finally read normal about four hours later (when it was around 98 degrees).
