Why dont you read the thread on how many engines have been replaced due to oil consumption. Actually theres a sticky on it, so everytime you log onto our site you can see how many mebers add themselves to the list. You dont even know the terrible track record for our terrible valves and seals in the early VQ and 06 engines, grow up buddy!
So because there are threads on here about oil consumption, you assume that it is extremely common for this to happen. Hey buddy, guess why a lot of people log on to this board in the first place? To find out more info about a problem they are having. Does the average Infiniti owner (non-enthusiast) go on here for ***** and giggles? I doubt it. The truth you don't want to except is, the majority of Infiniti owners do not experience this. And if they do, guess what? They are on here complaining/finding a possible resolution. Maybe I do need to grow up, but you need to expand your world view for a second.

Im not really sure your even making a point...? You are saying that most people are on here because they are trying to solve a problem with their infinit right? MY CASE IS THE SOLUTION TO THE BIGGEST PROBLEM YOU COULD HAVE WITH AN INFINITI, THE ENGINE IS FAULTY. THEREFORE IT WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY BY THE DEALERSHIP, AS IS ANY LAST STEP FOR ANY PROBLEM ON OUR CARS!

And then you go into how more members are on here trying to find a solution/complaining....how does this solve a problem with the tranny or the valves in the engine? Look all they want, type blah blah blah...the engines have to be replaced, not talked about if they burn oil. face it our Nissan's have a worse track record than Toyota/Lexus. I dont need to read in consumer reports to know this, its from first hand accounts right here on this forum.

And for the record, another member had said ooohh having slotted rotors is going to scream that the car was "raced out"....and stock brembo brakes really hide the race inspired look. Are you telling me that slotted rotors added to a car that comes stock with brembos brakes is all of a sudden going to look like a race car? The average person would assume the slotted rotors comes stock along with the brakes.

Ill tell them they are brand new brakes/rotors/lines and show him reciepts and mileage, less than 500...Im sure they will just cry at that.

People still fighting here? haha.

To be honest, You should have any problem selling your car to HS kids or Young adults. (Majority of G35 buyers anyways). But these buyers usually need help financially from outside sources (parents). And the parents are the one who will questions the car.

wow, some of you guys are going nuts on this.....he changed the motor...thats it...its not like all this **** is going wrong with the car, it was just the motor, if it was a defective motor for whatever reason and he got it replaced that doesnt mean the rest of the car has problems. I honestly wouldn't have a problem buying your car. But i also wouldn't pay MORE than what the car is worth with 44k miles on it.

It really doesnt matter why the motor was replace if that all that was wrong with it......say one of you guys went to get your oil changed and they forgot to tighten your oil pan bolt, your drivin and all your oil spills out, your motor siezes up and you have to get a new motor, so you get a new motor, and everything else is in tip top shape, you would still want the same amount as if you never had to replace the motor.

it def. isn't a downgrade, technically its an upgrade as in you have a fresh motor. But you should still sell it at the KBB price as it would be with the 44k

You mean... just a Motor and a transmission. It wasn't just a motor.

Sure it is.. the 2 biggest realistic things(moving parts) that could basically go wrong with a car did.

^yeah the biggest parts that make the car move, even still if it was both tranny and motor, and thats all it was, and thats all that was defective, everything else if fine

id rather buy a car that had something wrong with the motor/tranny then something with electrical/ecu/etc.

Well, a car with a replaced motor (The most important thing about the car) installed by some HS kids at the dealership doesn't make me feel safe.. Havn't you herd of HORROR stories from those kids who F'd up on a stupid Headlight removal?

Hmmm, reading comprension doesn't seem to be one of your strengths. There will be a higher concentration of people with problems on this board than in the general population because typically people are more likely to voice problems about their car and go online to research it. If you think G35Driver is a true representation of the overall Infiniti owner pool, than I defend my original statement that you need to expand your world view.

you can give two sh*ts but you've posted on this thread almost more than I have. I have never heard of a major problem with a whole year of Toyota/Lexus ( as the 06 rev up engines burning oil), My family has owned about 8 toyota/luexus and never had a problem...just change the oil and your good to go for 200k. There are so many little problems and problems with our cars that down right unluxurious , step out of your "infiniti owner box" and face it.
