Fuel Cap Door Locked

I was at the gas station trying to pump gas (1/4 tank left), and I could not unlock the fuel cap door. I tried using the key fob to unlock all doors, and used the power lock/unlock botton on the door, and I cannot get the fuel door to open!

I searched the forum, and found that it could be a bad fuse, or solenoid. Is there anybody else that had this problem recently? I want to avoid paying the dealer $200 if possible.

I am literally laughing at this post cause the same thing happened to me a few days ago. Just lock the doors with the remote, and unlock them. I think the fuel door just automatically locks. Hope that helps.

There is a connector that you can reach through the trunk to completely disable the remote release (if you want to). My solenoid went twice so I pulled the plug.

Thumbs up Fixed Gas Flap G35 Coupe - 135$

Dealership had to go in thru the trunck and repalce a bad locking mechanism. i did get it covered under warranty, but still had to pay a deductible and for the rental (2008 push start G35 4 door ) was a nice treat
Thanks for your comments-
J

i hate the whole gas lid clicking thing, it should have a switch to open the lid next to the door like most cars.

I had this problem today the fuel door wouldn't open. I had no idea that the key fob had anything to do with it or that there was a solenoid. I managed to pop the fuel door without damaging it. I removed a spring loaded device which was covered with a rubber grommet and re-inserted it, which was pretty much a pointless exercise.......lol...but everything is fine!
