uhmm 600 intake plenum spacer grounding wires...

 

Bigger wheels make this car look like an SUV on stock height. And basically if you can afford a decent body kit for this car, you can afford to lower it an inch and make it look respectable.

 

i seriously can't get over how many people here think putting an "intake" on our cars is a good investment. I have yet to see a dyno sheet that will show me that dropping $250 on a bunch of tubing and a cone filter makes any difference. For the same price you could put a spacer on the engine and experience much better gains. Sure it doesn't look as pretty when you pop the hood but at least you'll notice it when you put your foot down on the gas.

Another useless investment is the z-tube. it provides no gains whatsoever short of a little more noise when you gun it. whoopee, last i saw noise doesn't make your car faster.

Grounding wires are another waste of money unless you drive an automatic.

One great investment is a short shifter. I got a Rouge Engineering one and it made my car a world of fun to drive.

You got 600, here's what you do.
K&N drop in. $40.
Tein S-Techs - $150
Motordyne 5/16" spacer $225
Rouge (or some other) Short Shifter ~$200.

These simple to install mods will make your car a completely different driving machine.

and the next time you ask someone what mods to install, ask them WHY.

 

Ur right the intake and z-tube does not do crap for performance. But it sounds so much better, which BTW makes your car more fun to drive. It's all personal preference. And BTW modding your car is NEVER a good investment period.

All you have to do is look at some Corvettes. The more you modify them, the less they are worth. I had a vette for 14 years, the original stock vettes were getting top dollar and the mod ones....no one wanted.

 

If you take your car to a good enough dealer to get the alignment done they should be able to bring the rear camber back within specs.

I dropped my car on S-techs back in August and had the alignment done at Infiniti of Scottsdale. 6 months later there is a slight bit more wear on the inside of my rear tires, it's not bad enough for me to get a camber kit and get the thing aligned again. I was pretty paranoid at first so I was checking all the time to see if the insides were getting eaten up. After a while I realized that I wasn't in that bad a shape. The dealership did such a good job on the camber that I even noticed how much better the rears looked when I went to pick the car up.

I'm currently running Toyo Proxes T1R's.

 

Anything worse than S-techs you will need em. I have the Eibach pro-kit and all the camber and toe adjusters. Without them I was going through tires like crazy.

 

Yup, you're right. The market for completely original vettes is huge. My Dad and I used to restore vette's and the original ones with matching #'s always commanded top dollar.

 

ehh not true, i got my Magnaflow for $650 and I love it!

But I would agree that doing intake, springs and sways would get you more for $600. But if you do the sways you might as well do the exhaust since you are taking it off.
