OK..last attempt to buy a G35 before I give up..need opinions
OK...here goes,
2004 G35 2 door Coupe. 6MT Black on Black. and the topper, 4,200 miles! no navi.
they want 26,950. Its at a Non-infiniti Dealership
Seems pretty high to me, but i see that the mileage could definitely do it....but wanted to get some opinions
its also local...about 4 blocks from my work haha
Kelly Blue Book seems to not take mileage into affect...Excellent Private Party value is only at 23,655.00
NADA is giving the car a $2,325 adder for the low mileage, putting the car at 24,000 for Trade in and Retail Value at 27,225.

Talk them down.
A) There is no such thing as Excellent Condition in used cars. It might look great but its not "Excellent Condition"
B) NADA and KBB are not accurate and it is NOT what the dealer used to price cars. They might tell you what KBB value is to make you think youre getting a good deal.
That car is way overpriced even with only 4200 mi.

Even since last October the blue book values of G35 coupes have dropped several thousand dollars (I check mine every month, even putting in the previous mileage to verify that it's not a product of added mileage, which it largely isn't).
Perhaps the reason KBB doesn't give an advantage to an '04 with such low mileage is that it is severely low, suggesting it may not have been driven for long periods of time, which is not good for a car.
Either way I think they are asking too much, especially if they can't provide you with a previous owner(s) who can verify they drove the car at least a few times a month.

i agree 100% with you guys that the price seems high...but it is a G35 that is highly wanted...
tell me what price is "Decent" and what price would be a "great deal"...
im going there after work and want to throw a figure at them...
PS...I've never purchased from a dealer but this G35 just came in today and is actual scheduled wednesday to get services....its not even technically on the lot yet.

kbb and nada are buying and selling tools for dealerships. if you really want to know what things are worth try ebay and go to completed listing. almost all dealers use this now to figure what cars are selling for. i bought one in the midwest in september after doing my research on ebay. 07 diamond graphite with 6000 miles on it for $28,500 dollars. no matter what year you buy you have to pic a price and stick to it. the car salesman job is to get the most $ that they can and they all have many ways of doing that but ultimately you have the final say. stick to your price and you will get the job done. i was in the car bis for several years.

you would be surprised. if you have cash or the ability to pay for the car right then they will be alot more likely to deal. if 23,500 is what that car is selling for on ebay i would offer 22,500 but i would not give over 23,500. the dealer is smart and they did not buy that car over what they are selling for on ebay. when they ask you what your willing to give and you tell them they are going to act like there is no way they can sell you that car for that amount thats when its important to stick to your top dollar.let them get you to that number and then you may have to leave. don't worry the will be calling you back if they let you leave. when i bought mine i was @ that chicago dealership for three and a half hours but i got the job done. let me knoe how you come out.
