2005 G35 and other Questions
Hello All,
Does anyone know anything about the 2005 G35? Will it be spotted at the 2005 New York International Auto Show here in NY? I place an order for my G35 from the dealer and they told me its going to take approximately 3 months before I get it. If the 05 G35 is better then the 04, should I wait?
Also does anyone know any good and cheap Dyno Shops in the NY/NJ areas? I am planning to dyno the car before I put my modifications on it.
Thanks in advance for all responses.

Re: 2005 G35 and other Questions
There are tons of rumors on the boards, but keep in mind that they are only rumors. I won't believe any of it until Infiniti actually releases the information. I was told a few of these rumors(power tilt/telescopic wheel and memory seats for example) from dealers when I first looked at G35s April last year about the 04' and none were true. Since the 2005 model won't start hitting until late August at the earliest, don't expect it to be at any of the autoshows with the cars still selling well. Mustangs and Corvettes($10K off on a new Z06) are in huge sales slumps, so they are trying to get as much press as possible on the new models. While there may be minor revisions from year to year, Infiniti won't be changing the chassis for 7 years(4.5 years from now).
Your decision to buy an 04' or 05' is one of putting off the purchase for 6 months on the hopes that there may be changes. I ordered my G35 as an 04' in May last year. I knew I was going to order and not take an allocation. I felt it was so close to the end of the model year, I decided to just order for the next year. It was so early, it was the very first special order 04' to go in.
Infiniti had no release information on the 04' when I did the order(I got an order # the first week of June). When I got my order #, no one even knew TB would be a color since no information was released on it. TB was announced in July as a color option. When the first 04' coupes hit the dealers in August(all TB), some had front lips and the dealers were just shocked that they were on the cars since Infiniti again had not released information about them as options. They weren't ordered with front lips, they just showed up that way. Keep in mind that cars are built in batches by colors and options, so there can be up to a 2 month difference in the build time of 2 cars ordered on the same day. The pricing wasn't even released from Infiniti until 2 weeks before the first cars arrived. Yes, I ordered my car without knowing the final price! My car arrived in September, 4.5 months after ordering. Infiniti didn't even update the website for the 04's until September(after the first 04' cars were at the dealers) and the 04' brochures weren't even printed until October(I got one when they first came in, about 3 weeks after I took delivery of my car).

Re: 2005 G35 and other Questions
There's a lot of rumors floating around but here's what I think is true:
1. Interior will be completely revamped. Better materials, leather, guages, etc. Likely memory seats.
2. Front fascia will be changed to have chin spoiler integrated into bumper. The bumper design itself may change as well.
3. Price will increase.
I highly doubt there will be any of the rumored bumps in power or changes to engine/transmission.
