After driving 30 miles a little exclamtion light comes on

When i drive 30 miles it seems like on the highway at about 80 a light on my dash comes on... im guessing its vdc related?? I do have 20s on the car I use to have 275 35 20 and 245 35 20 tires now i have 285 30 and 255 30 and im still having the issue. does anyone have any ideas? I would like to just disable the damn vdc

You didnt put the tire pressure sensors in your new rims so its gonna do that.

That would be your TPMS light. I'm assuming you dont have TPMS in your new wheels. It will either stay on all the time, or it'll come on after driving a while on the freeway. You're one of the lucky ones, like me, that has it only come on after a long drive.

hmmm i had no clue my car had them in the factory wheels.... I had the factory 19s.... without navi... is there any way to monitor the pressure without having the factory navi or does it just come on and let u know when somethings not right? IS there anyway to disable it or I would have to put the sensors in my new wheels?

owner's manual?

either you don't have the tps installed or your tire(s) are low.

the pressure monitoring senders go on the inside of the tires. They're attached to the valve stems, to install them you'd have to pull your wheels and have the tires remounted.

The TPMS does not directly tell you the tire pressure - even if you have the NAV system. It only lights up (and beeps) when the pressure is off.

If the car detects something wrong in the system (like you don't have tire pressure sensors), it turns on the light on the dash.

lately, mine has been coming on when I first turn on the car, but then goes away a bit later. I have checked my tires and put air in them. It only does it once in a while, and I'm rolling on OEM 19s. Weird as all hell.

Has it ever occured to you that as you drive the tires heat up and the air expands. That is why the tps light goes off afterwards. It's back to science class for you.

Same as him my light only goes on during the long highway drives. Either way the system is weird, because the light should stay on as soon as it detects there is no feed from the sensors or should just never turn on if all four sensers are not there and not sending any information.

Maybe I should have gone into more detail, but thanks for the science lesson .

Sometimes, my light will come on during my drive, rather than come on at the very beginning. I understand why it may come on when I first turn on the car, but throughout my drive?

Mine is the same, after 45 to 60 min of highway driving, the light comes on and there is nothing off on the pressure.
