wheel alignment question

i was wondering when getting new rims put on the car do you need to do a wheel alignment after?

see everyone keeps giving me different opinions, but i guess it wont hurt to do an alignment anyway right?

and if one is needed can you tell me why?

i never did.

you need an alignment only when you mess with the suspension or through time.

your only changing wheels so no need to worry about alignment.

I wouldn't bother unless it's veering to the right or left. Try finding a place that offers lifetime alignments. That way you go in every 6 months or so.
