Plenum+ Stillen strut bar fitment.

OK so I have the AAM angled plenum spacer + Ztube and I just purchased the Stillen front strut bar, problem is I can't seem to get the bar to fit as it rest on the plenum with no space. Stillen is telling me it should fit, They also sent me washers to try but now I'm having issues with the AC line. WTF has anyone else encountered this issue. and yes I did take the engine cover off.

It's funny how Stillen reps are so cool when they are selling their products but get nasty when you tell them you have issues and have to return something.

i have had a bad first experience with stillen a bit ago. sorry to hear you have to deal with them.

they tried to make fun of Hotchkis sway bars... tried to make me feel like I was some sort of idiot for buying those instead of the stillen ones (which have less stiffer settings).

as for your problem... no idea man, I am probably going to get one of richie's sways here on the forum (replica ARC).

I have the Stillen front strut brace and a 5/16 spacer and I have about 2 mm clearance between my plenum and the brace.

I have the Motordyne 3/8" spacer and a OEM Z-Tube, no problems here.

Guys at Stillen are fully aware of the fitment issues with the STB and aftermarket plenums/spacers. I was there a couple of days ago picking up a part and overheard some of the sales guys talking about it.

if the spacer is more than 1/2 inch then you probably wont clear a strut bar.. but there's variables, such as your angled spacer and the design of the strut bar itself...

Spacers vs Upper Strut Bars....!

Hmmm, here's the issue with a strut bar that isn't adjustable and a spacer
from a company Driver members rarely use. I have the MotorDyne 1/2" spacer
and the Richie upper strut bar and I have at least 1/4" clearance. Before you
buy anything check our site for fitment and other members opinions/knowledge!

I have the stillen strut bar and a MotorDyne 5/16" spacer. I found that when installing mine, I would put it to it's maximum height, and during process of tightening the bolts it would slip down and come into contact with the plenum by the time the bolts were secure. I solved this by placing a couple wrenches (or anything about a 1/4" thick) between the highest points of the plenum and the bar and removing them after the bolts were tight. Now I have at least a quarter inch clearance. Try that and see if it works.

Is the AAM angled spacer different from other spacers available because it is angled. I wondering if thats the reason why the strut bar won't fit and others have had no fitment problems. Also can someone measure their plenum in the front and the rear or sides and see if it is the same measurements all the way around, I noticed that my plenum is different size from front to back.
