there is a DIY on my350z on how to jack up your slammed cars. Just get some wood from home depot, cut it and nail/glue it together in a certain way.. it will run u about 18 bux. and i have $30 jack/stand.. those bad boys hold up like a charm.

Lift'in my Coupe....!

Sears is the place, floor jack and stands are the way to go for lifting your G.
DO NOT USE RAMPS THEY ARE DANGERIOUS!
Sears has a great jack for $199 that's made for lowered cars and don't go
cheap on the jack stands, remember who's going under your car!

The point I am making is the ramps are dangerious I've seen several cars with
major damage because of them! Secondly, when you go to Sears buy the
aluminum race jack and the 3 ton jack stands (two sets) and you'll have and
enjoy them forever....understand you pay a little now but you'll never have to
pay again....you're done!!

Anything related to a car can be dangerous if you use it wrong. I'd like to hear how you find ramps to be soo dangerous anyways. Sure, if you drive up on them full throttle and go off the other side they're dangerous.... but that would only happen if the driver is a huge idiot or doesn't know how to drive a standard. It's also very easy to tell if your car will rub going up on the ramps just by putting them in place in front of the car tires so that they are in as tight as can go.... at which point it would already be scraping the chin if it's going to do so signficantly.

I actually think ramps are very safe, because once you are on it and the car is off, it's not going to risk collapsing on you like a jack could(obviously you never work under a car just on a jack.. always use jack stands).

I would suggest that you never use the stock jacks in case of absolute emergency. There have been many horror stories w/ the POS stock jack failing and the car falling. In that note, I would suggest get 2 ton jack + a set of jack stands. Should be much money. If the jacks wont fint under your car, just get ramps or DIY w/ 2x4 peices of wood. The ramps should give you enough clearance to lift the car then put the jack stands in place.

On a side note, Where do you guys put your jack stands? Any one have any pics of it on the car? Do you install the jack stands where you would jack the car on the sides, like that little notch on the side of the car?

Well if you actually read the first post... which talks about me having some ramps that have too much of a steep incline, but me not wanting to go out and blow $200, $300+ on a jack and jack stands, etc and still being able to somehow get the car onto those ramps....

nice try tho

Common Sence Buddy.....common Sence!

If You Can't Use Ramps, Well, Then Dont Use Ramps. Simple As That

You Can Get A 2.5 Ton Floor Jack At Kragen For I Think $60-$70 I Forget What I Paid, Thing Works Amazing, But A Couple 2x4's Under Your Tires, Your Good To Go, I Donno How Low You Could Be, My Front Id Dumped And I Can Easily Get A Floor Jack Under It
