a few problems but one was of a major component

my manual tranny replaced at 18K miles for grinding when shifting into 5th gear at 42-43MPH

seatbelt doesn't retract properly and door always closes on it

motorized navigation screen wouldn't go up and had to be replaced at 30K miles

otherwise no issues with oil consumption or any other drivetrain or electronic issues.

All I can add here is that the oil consumption comes with the motor, not the car. So 350Zs with revup motor can have this problem too.

+1 for the clear bra. That was the first item which I had installed.

With regard to the engine oil consumption issue . . . My engine was just recently replaced for serious OC issues. Locally, I know of 2 other members, whom are having OC issues. One is waiting for his first engine replace the other is experiencing OC with his first replacement engine. I have a sneaking suspicion that my new engine is consuming oil, as well.

The above said are all '05 to '06 cars with the 6MT. Personally, if one has the option, I would avoid these model year cars. Why buy a documented and manufacture recognized issue if you can avoid it?

oh and if you end up getting one with brembos be sure you ask how much it costs to replace discs and brake pads on those brembos and know what kind of maintenance issues/costs you'll be getting into.

My '04 6MT has Brembos (of course) and I just went over 30,000 miles. I replaced the pads with Hawk HPS pads (wasn't very expensive at all) solely to reduce brake dust- the original pads had plenty of life yet and there was nothing wrong with them except for the brake dust. The rotors still have lots of miles left. The Brembos are faultless and quiet.

^ brembos cannot be turned. they must be replaced. they are expensive to replace. OEM pads are expensive as a matter of fact much more expensive than the '05+ years and non brembo brakes.

also the odds of someone picking up an '04 or '03 with 30K miles like you is much more rare.

odds are they'll soon have to replace all those things as those cars are probably more along the lines of 45-60K miles at least considering an average of 15K miles per year driven.
