are you using an oil filter with a check-valve to keep the oil in the upper part of the engine and not drain into the oil pan?

Have you checked the engine oil level? If not, check the said when the engine is cold and see if the oil level is up to par.

My friends 05G couple was ticking for just a few seconds at startup each morning even though she changed oil on time always... I had her switch to Royal Purple one year ago and the ticking stopped and has never returned after 25,000 miles.

It's all about how well you want to treat your G... She also said it became "peppier" and "burns less fuel" since the change.

my dad owns a auto shop and people always come in about problems like this. He told me that it could be your spark plugs of your spark plug wires.

I get an occasional tick---------tick----------tick when i turn the car off from a long drive, or if I'm stopped at a light after a while of driving. I don't really worry because I've heard that sound from almost every car I've owned.

That is normal. You are hearing the hot metal components underneath the car contracting and cooling down. However, the OP may have a different issue.

If the OP is experiencing engine valve train noises, it is definitely worth his/her time to look into it.

This is normal...

The noise that started this thread was heard at startup so it's a different thing...
