Changes on 05-vs-06

I posted a thread in the buying/leasing section but seems to be alot of newbs like myself that frequent that section rather then actual owners with answers.
Thus the reason for this thread I started.
Here is a link:
click me

Cliff notes:
-Wish mods would have a stickied thread for us G newbs to read in reference to year by year changes to interior/exterior of the 03-07 G35 coupe along with pics of said statements
-05 front grille not as aggressive as 06
-06 tails aren't flat like 05's
-06 reverse light is more rectangular then 05's
-06 headlights have clear lamp turn signals and projector headlights... 05 doesn't
-06 rear spoiler is much more petite then 05's

Some Qs:
-Any option list changes between 05 and 07??? Lotpro states no differences but I could be overlooking some stuff. click for lot pro link to G info <----very good info for us newbs.
- Any interior differences between 05 and 06? I can't find anything on this.. Though I heard the older models didn't have the steering wheel controls light up vs the newer models... Can an owner confirm?
-I keep reading about the 2006 headlamps don't have the light strip that the 03-05s do... What light strip are owners referencing?

TY for help. I'm confident I'll be a G owner by May 1st.

06's have integrated bluetooth; 05's do not.
i believe the 03-04 steering wheel controls do not light up, but the 05-07 do.
06 headlights do not have the clearance strip (a strip of lights running vertically along the outside edge of the headlight housing), the 05's do.

Deep, thanks for quick response. What is this clearance strip? Does it light up like parking lights? or used during turn signals?

Yeap, all listed.. except for side skirts. I didn't know that one. Thanks for input. I'm gonna PM a Mod once I get all the differences down and try and get the final revised thread stickied for future newbs like me.

Found out some other stuff today. Apparently the 06+ year models come with a seat belt holder as seen here: (ignore the padding)

And that when I went to go test drive an 05 my foot would hit the bottom of the dash when moving from accelerator pedal to brake pedal.... Damn near gets stuck there. I wear a size 14 shoe. I'm wondering if the bottom piece can come out? I know on my type-s it can come out. Can any owners assist in all these questions I have?

perfect help me bump it. lol Trying to get some answers. Thinking of just finding a owner with an 06 and asking all my questions towards that person...

Something else I read. That 06+ have memory driver seat... Can anyone confirm?
Also, test drove a 05 G35 today and I see what people mean by the seats being snug. The side bolster is tight fitting. That and the steering wheel doesn't go down very far... Anyone have a mod to make it go down more? I like my hand on the center of the steering wheel but it just felt awkward reaching up that high. I'm 6ft 3 and I fit in the car (finally a car I can fit in) but my size 14 shoe sometimes gets stuck under the dash when moving from the accelerator pedal to the brake pedal. Thinkin I can remove that piece though just like I did in my RSX.

RSX.
Good thread and you are correct:

New for 2006, the Premium Package for G35 Coupe 6MT models adds Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System and driver’s seat and steering wheel memory.

Jat do you own a 2006 coupe? If so how does the trunk work with that chrome piece that is in the driver side taillight? I've been reading that apparently that chrome piece serves for something having to do with the trunk, but no concrete evidence. The 03-05's don't have it. And I plan on actually switching the taillights from 06 to an earlier model tail... Unless that chrome piece is a dire necessity to get the trunk open. I figured as long as I have my key fob, I can remote trunk release... No need for chrome thing-a-majig.

Yes the left tail light does come with the chrome button that acts as a trunk release besides the key fob. I wouldn't recommend removing the lights because of this. When I first got the car I was thinking of changing out the lights but they grow on you and they actually stick out a little and have grooves in the plastic circles it makes the old style look kinda boring. The chrome button is so small it isn't that noticeable. But thats just my thought.
