2005 Coupe

Hello all,

First post, new user. I am just about to pull the trigger on a new 6mt Graphite/Graphite, Premium and I hear and read rumblings about improvements for 05. Rumor has it the car will get a spruced up interior and and extra 20hp. (pretty significant changes).

So i have 2 questions.

Should I wait until Sept/Oct?

Currently I am able to negotiate to about 2% over invoice. Do you think I will have less room for negotiation with the new ones? In other words, will I pay alot more for the 05.

Your feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

I would. Whether or not the rumors are true, I would bet that there will be significant changes - if nothing else, at least some major "bug fixes" for common problems plaguing '03s and '04s.

I think Infiniti is supposed to be previewing the '05 at the New York auto show on April 8th. If they do, you can get an idea then of whether you want to wait or not.

Flame Flame Flame....... I say wait too! Maybe you don't even really want this car with all those pretty 05's coming out. I say wait.

PS I sick about hearing about all these changes to the '05, and what problems does the '04 have???

Re: 2005 Coupe

I agree... wait until the April 8th NYC autoshow to see the changes if any.

The sales of the 2004 G35 are doing so well, I don't think they would make a significant change even in the interior. If anything, they might fix some of the '04 problems just like the "04 models fixed most of the '03 problems. +20hp, that's a new one, haven't heard that rumor before.

Even if the do make drastic changes, increased prices would soon follow, maybe pushing it past $40K? There is already talk over here in Hawaii that they are planning a $3K increase soon even for the '04 model.

2% over invoice? Are you sure thats the true invoice they are showing you? Or did you find the invoice price on the net? Some dealers show a marked up invoice and hide the true invoice.......my old Nissan dealership did that to me, will never go back there again.....

We'll all eagerly wait for the preview of the '05 model in the next 2 weeks.......

Re: 2005 Coupe

The only change I see plausible is making the premium package standard, therefore raising the base price of the car.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate everyone's insight. Still left with the question of pricing on the 2005's. I assume if I wait until September I will end up paying more money.

Agree or Disagree

Re: 2005 Coupe

If the 2005's have significant changes, you will probably be able to get a good deal on a 2004 at the end of the 2004 model run!.
However, I doubt there will be major changes so soon on a car this popular. Maybe an interior revision w/ memory seats, etc. But I would doubt the 20hp or anything major.

Re: 2005 Coupe

I'm seriously considering trading up for an 05 and trading in my 04 with around 4k miles. If there is a price increase for the 05 it can only help the resale value of the 04's. The interior will have to be a significant improvement for me to make the move.
